It's already pretty much over in Australia, and apart from one or two people carrying flowers, there was no sign it was valentines day nor did anyone where I study care about Valentine's day.
Anyhow, it was a nice enough, sunny day, I got a lot of work done, had some fun talking with friends and colleagues, got a good book and treated it like any other day. And that's how I got through it. By ignoring it.
I don't hate valentines day - it's fun for sappy couples, and hey, that's great for them. It's nice that they have a holiday. And while they're off doing... whatever it is they do on Valentine's day, I'll be sitting in the Pathology Museum examining a case of severe right ventricular hypertrophy.
