Every time a political thread pops up theirs always someone who states his or her anarchist feeling.

I just dont get it... How is a system like that supposed to work. Its like Marxism, good in theory but way to general to be practical.

EDIT:

No I am not anti-anarchy, but I should seeing all the problems its cause in greece (home conuntry), but that is not really anarchy, just punks that are bored, and stupid fox news like media coverage.

Next, I under stand that anarchy isnt supposed to work HAHAHAH your all so clever and funny. Im asking how it would work. How would a society be able to have an anarchy without chaotic qualities.

Finally, for those people going around and saying we should overthrow goverment and create anarchy, Is that even possible?

EDIT 2: Ohh and redking, thanks for the post

How anarchy is supposed to work?... As I understand it, isn't that question a little like asking how a colander is supposed to hold water?

Cause as much chaos as possible and see what happens. KIDDING GODDAMN

EDIT: I guess i didn't make it clear that i was just kidding. I'm not sure how a society can be formed on the idea of anarchy. Without a leader how would decisions get made. How could society be brought together. It's not really a very well thought out form of government

In my experience, a lot of the proponents of Anarchy are of one of two wishful-thinking mindsets:

- "No government! The Man can't keep me down! I can go out and rob and steal and burn things and not get arrested! Woohoo!"
- "No government! No more taxes! Woohoo!"

A lot of them either forget or disregard that, without the rule of law, mob mentality takes over- i.e. if you're not strong enough to keep someone from taking what you have, whether it be your money, your food, or your life, then you have no recourse. The only 'justice' comes from strength (physical or military) and numbers. No road upkeep, no emergency services, no Internet.

The last point is the only reason I care either way about anarchy.

I truly don't care what system of government or economic model is in use, so long as:

1) I have internet.
2) It's not dial-up.
AND
3) I get food semi-regularly.

I don't even care if they have an internet-gestapo on my case. I don't have anything to hide. I have odd searches, sure, but I have a reason for them all, and it's my simian ancestry.

Anarchy works in frontier societies by default, either that or the frontier collapses. But it does not work in any civilized society. This was one of Heinlein's great messages: the truly free man must always live on the edge of civilization, otherwise he will always be ruled by others.

Anarchy is a great form of government (or rather lack thereof), but it's virtually impossible. First off, anarchy is not chaos. Anarchy does not mean that society must break down and riot in the streets. Anarchy is simply the lack of government. It means that there are no laws telling people what to do and how to live their lives. It's a great concept really. But where things all fall apart (like Rogue Wolf said) is mob mentality and other people forcing themselves on others. It's human nature. Somebody will step up and claim control based on their own power and other people will follow, giving their power credence. Of course when this happens, the anarchy stops because there is now somebody in charge. If people weren't so power hungry and had their own set of ethics to follow, then anarchy could exist and everybody would live in an utopian society where nobody NEEDS to tell other people what to do. Of course that's not the case, and most people are morally gray at best. In today's society government is a necessity, and that is why anarchy cannot work.

Anarchy, as I understand it, involves the prolateriat overthrowing the bourgeoisie & removing the central government, replacing it with a federal network of cities ran as worker communes. It differs from communism in that anarchism sees the workers utopia occuring organically with the overthrow of the state, whereas communism involves the state being taken over by the prolateriat & used to achieve the ultimate goal. Something like that neway

Anarchy as I see it is like a teenager storming out of his/her parents house after being controlled and other stuff too much. So they wander around for a little with no structure and either comeback to the parents, or go try something different.

Anarchy is the belief system that people are inherantly good, and evil acts are a form of rebellion. The idea is that if there were no set laws, there would be nothing to rebel against and our good nature would be our guide. Doesn't take a whole lot of common sense to see that this falls at the first hurdle, but it's not an entirely a bad idea.

The really funny part is little punks who yap about anarchy who are mostly doing the exact opposite and rebelling against laws for the sake of it instead of just acting like normal people, the idjits.

Anarchy is actually a paradox. It's disorder with order. theres a certain way that you're supposed to act in order to be out of order.

If you live in an anarchic society there is no government, no fire fighters, no police, no hospitals. You would live in constant fear for your life, not knowing who to trust because of the unlimited freedoms they have earned. Sleepless nights would be spent watching for potential assassins. You would have no water, electricity, gas, etc. There would be riots everywhere. You would die

You all are looking at this in all the wrong light. Don't get me wrong Anarchy is bad and I in no way support it. Yes people will have freedoms to do as they please with no one but the people they harass to stop them but I still like to think (and hope) that there is some good in some people. So with an Anarchic life style they would keep to themselves and not bother anyone unless they had good reasons to.

If government were to be overthrown and things became anarchy, it would not be long before totalitarianism took place thanks to mob rule.
