Can you touch Divinity?

I'm super drunk... I hate the concept of god but I feel like there are many human traits that allow us to touch the divine. I define Divinity as the the deepest and farthest part of the human mind. There are people that can reach it and there are the majority of us that can not.

This is a very long video of Jimi Hendrix performing at the '69 Woodstock festival. If you watch the whole video you will see Jimi playing guitar with his mouth open, to me it feels as though he is trying to project his music from his voice first. Thoughts on the video? Or thoughts of the divinity of the human spirit?

To keep this on topic: I don't give a shit if you think that 'god' talks to you though the bible or whatever your religion gets its theology from. I'm solely interested in your encounters with the divine though art. NOT RELIGION.

Edit: To hell with me. My drunk mind is not a factor when you consider the questions posed.

Maybe it's because I'm sober, but this sounds kind of silly.

So what, you're asking if we can CHANNEL AWESOME from some DEEP DARK part of OUR MINDS?
Perhaps in the 90% WE'RE TOTALLY NOT USING (we are totally using it you guys)

I dunno.
Probably not.
I'm willing to bet that if I wouldn't have said I was drunk your comment would have been different. Make your point again; better yet, just answer the question/questions: Do you feel divine when you make art? Do you feel divinity when you experience art?

Your a rather interesting drunk my good fellow!

So your saying that humans can interact with the divine through the deeper part of their minds? Fair enough, carn't say i would subscribe to such a belief, psychology could reveal some more likely answers.

Let's talk about Jimi Hendrix for a minute. I'm 100% sure I have NO idea what the fuck is going though his head. However, from what I can see in his performance he projects his beautiful guitar for within himself. This is getting to complex for this forum to get me thinks...

It's not divine it's euphoric, but for all intents and purposes it may as well be divinity.

Yah, I'll need some drugs first to expand my mind that far.
You have to realize that almost all scientific studies on the divine use drugs, specially mushrooms, as there starting points. The "religious experience" that people feel is remarkably close to how people feel when they do hallucinogens.

Yes, that's why I said that.

I touch her every night when she gets back from the club. My friends think it's weird I'm dating a stripper, but it's just a job, right?

Well i cant remember much detail of any of them because they re often presented in huge walls of texts because people seem to have forgotten what a paragraph is. But back on track the general consensus is that if humans could use a greater percentage of their brain than they currently do (i don't know numbers, sorry this is all of my rather bad memory) then they could simply achieve much more. Its not very wowing but it makes sense. And then there is Jungian theory but i really don't know much about that, something about chromosomes.

BAH! I'm not asking about your personal hang-ups. I want a discussion about the Divinity of art!

Edit: I may have let a bit of my drunkenness slip there.

Well using what i just said as a lead up.

Yeah i know what you mean about Hendrix, iv'e seen that and i noticed that to. But i just assumed heed taken something. But thats about as much input as i can make because i'm afraid that when i was born art said 'fuck this' and went elsewhere and as such i have none so i can make no further contribution.

OK, this will sound very, very, VERY cliché but I think every act commited out of love without having any reward in mind is a divine act.

Still missing an art experience from you but I'll let it go as you've put up with me so nicely :).

You speak sir/madam of one of the basic principles of art. However; love like art is NOT intentional.

Eh I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't give the response I truly agree with. There isn't anything divine about anything and the soul is a concept, not something we have within us but merely a description of how we differ in personality.
Also the thing with Jimi Hendrix is probably just him getting some sort of euphoria (or at the very least a hallucination) caused bu being surrounded by weed, acid, and hippies for so long.
