Speaking from Quebec here:
- We are very advanced in Montreal in the domain of Videogames.
- DRinking age is 18.
- Driving age is 16.
- Hockey is held more important than religion (In Quebec anyway. Go Canadians)
- A LOT of people are bilingual (french/english) (Or even more if they are immigrants)
- The weather is nice when it feels like it (can go to -25 in winter, 30 in summer)
- You can do a lot of activities due to the versatile weather.
- Quebecers are proud of their past.
- Most people are nice. Just cross the border for fun. You'll see what i'm talking about.
- We were the colonisation starting point.

And that's only Quebec!

At the end of world war II Canada had the world's third biggest navy and airforce. Also, on D-Day we advanced further into normandy than any other allied assault.

OT: I'm English, so I'm not really ever in a position where I need to know about Canadia, but I do know that it's pretty much America, but with a lot of the bad stuff taken away, and colder.
Though Quebec, I can't think of a place I want to visit less, especially after hearing horror stories from my parents about their week in Quebec a few months before I was born, considering they described it as "America, but populated by the French."

Now I would go on to justify why this is bad, but it would kind of end up as a rant about the French people I have met, and it's A) Not offensive straight off the bat, but could easily be misconstrued as offensive, and B) Not related to the topic at hand, so I'm going to leave that one for later, when there's nobody around, at which point I still won't post it.

I'm a French-Canadian who grew up by montreal my whole life... And I can't blame you... most people are die-hard "english" haters... heck, even when i talk to a waiter or something who's native language is english, I can't avoid having some xenophobic asshole giving me a bad look or be told to speak french.

On the other hand... I plan to come visit jolly old England for a month within the next year!

That's not a tropical rainforest. It's just called a rainforest. A tropical rainforest is like the ones in Brazil. Who taught you Canadian geography?

I really haven't noticed any major difference between American and Canadian people or culture. At the very least, the social and cultural differences between Canadians and Americans are probably less than the amount of variation within those countries. Montreal is a great party city though.

As for what I know, I know you currently have troops deployed in Afghanistan.

That is true. But we are more like the Cleaning service after the US invasion. Seriously, there's not a years that i can recall where US didn't stir up some shit in the middle-east.

Anyways, we mostly do Humanitarian work. And some of the Soldier i know say it suck because they are forbidden to shoot until told otherwise and are easily confuse with the US troop that invaded. Maybe it was a mistake to give them the Squared, computer design of our uniform. Yes, they were made in Canada.

"The term "storm trooper" was first used by the Germans in the First World War to describe the Canadian troops that they had to fight against. Canadian troops were most feared by the Germans during the First World War, and the German army always prepared for the worst when an attack was spearheaded by the Canadian army.
