There are too many old people because they aren't dying from cancer and as a result the economy gets completely fucked.

I'd find a cure for the horrible disease known as *deep scary voice* "gingivitis"

Or find a cure for whatever disease makes people vote Republican.

implying conservatism is something that can/should be cured
>implying that humanity is a plague that can/should be cured

You never fail to disappoint, Escapist users.

OT: Probably play a video game. I've earned it.

I'd then invent a gun that increased peoples IQ and distribute it to inner city gangs. Then sit back and watch as they all became nuclear physicists.

Then I'd finally have someone working on bloody flying cars. I mean, come on science, get the hell on with it.

I can almost hear Cave Johnson now...
"In fact, we had the boys down in the lab invent a new super-contagious zombie virus just for this next test. They're telling me to let you know NOT TO GET BITTEN. Or touched. In fact, don't even look at the other test subjects. Lab boys are telling me that's highly dangerous."

You and I could run a pharmaceutical research company in the strain of Umbrella Corp. or Mann Co.
We release new and more deadly versions of previous diseases JUST SO WE COULD CURE THEM A SECOND TIME.

Curing people of Religion maybe? That or the Common cold.
I wish. Even if you did find a cure for cancer, people would still credit God for their recovery.

Now we get back to more important things (i.e.: collecting TF2 hats)

Yeah. Beside, the common cold would be a lot easier to cure.

isn't it great how the only things that need to be cured are the things most people on the escapist disagree with? Kinda sad escapist community, kinda sad.

you would have to say you love something that you hate.
Ex:
mlp hater that has cancer:
"I...love...my...little...pony."
He is cured
:)

um, I post it on the escapist and watch it spread.

Not to be a prick, but AIDS is actually becoming a good force in the world, its cause developing countries to rethink having sex with everything that moves. I'm not saying that its a good thing, but bad things can occasionally have good effects.

Well first I patent it (and if its a do it yourself remedy I make a placebo drug that I say has to be taken for the remedy to take effect). Then I buy a pool and fill it with money. Then I swim in the money pool.

After that I cure AIDS, do the same thing (patent + pool) and then I buy out every pharmaceutical and biotech company to avoid any competition.

Well, the next milestone is obviously aging. :p

You know, cancer never used to be much of an issue. When people died at thirty years of age, there really wasn't time for their cells to start mutating out of control... and even if that was happening, the latest deadly pox usually got them first.

As we keep moving forward, I think we'll find more and more of the individual problems that make up aging... the various degradations of DNA that change the process of getting older from one of growth to one of death, and we will learn how to forestall those degradations longer and longer. There will always be a curtain to push back, though, I think... and the problem of actually affording to do it for everyone, rather than just those few who are wealthy enough.

Old Man Death won't be out of a job for a long time, unless I miss my guess.
