I've been having a pretty awful night. I've got a cold, a terrible headache, and (largely as a result of those) can't sleep at all. Right now I'm just listening to Marty Robbins and hoping the pain fades a little so I can get some shut-eye. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Not currently, but I have been enough times to sympathize. Try reading, tires ur eyes out and may help you drop off, works for me.

13:52, but I had a hard time falling asleep last night. I then just put on some Enya, and woosh - I was gone.

I have DSPS which means that I can't get to sleep at the normal (socialably exceptable) times. I always fall asleep at around 2.00 - 4.00 am and wake up at around 12.00 - 14.00 pm.

I've tried everything to get myself to sleep but it won't work on me. Do something that is mind numbingly boring, or at least something that doesn't make you concentrate on things too much. Drink some water. Hope you get better soon.

I know what you mean. I got insomnia and it's 4:48 a.m.
Yeah, same time here. What's more, I have school tomorrow. Doubtful that I'll be going, though.

I convince myself that I can't sleep so I can stay on here, whereas I in fact just don't want to go to bed.

I had my senior trip to Cedar Point today so I didn't sleep at all yesterday and by the time it came for me to wake up I slept through my alarm clock and missed the bus. So now I feel sick because being depressed usually makes me feel worse than being physically ill.

That's some bad luck there, my friend. Sorry to hear you're feeling down. Maybe this will cheer you up.

This also works on me. Well not all the time, but it's the only remedy I have for my insomnia.

Watching boring shows on TV has the opposite effect on me since I get pissed that there's nothing good on.

Good luck with your insomnia Old Hat! If all else fails try staring at one of those optical illusions till your eyes get tired.

I ended up waking up at about 3am, convinced it was 7am. I went back to sleep and kept waking up about once every half an hour. I decided to get up at 5am. I am now regretting that decision at 13:35.
