Blink still is a terrifying episode yes.. But..
The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.

I couldn't sleep for weeks.
I'm still afraid of gas masks.
And I scream if someone goes Pyro on TF2.

Oh God now i'll be having nightmares again, WHY DID I HAVE TO CLICK THE LINK!

A morbid fear of blinking and the word 'Mummy'. This is what the Doctor has given me.
That episode with the little WW2 kids with the gas masks (I think) kept my brother up and when he finaly got to sleep he had nightmares and woke up sceaming.

I made the stupid mistake of looking up a crapton of urban legends on Snopes, a few years ago, and was too scared to do much.
I can somewhat relate. Back when Cloverfield had just came out, I started looking up stuff about it. One thing led to another, and the result creeped me the fuck out.

I'd rather not go into details about what happened, because I'd rather not revive repressed memories.

Aside from that keeping me awake for about an hour longer than I had intended, the Exorcist, although my parents are quite evil and had me watch it when I was thirteen.
I fell asleep when I tried to watch it at ten. Haven't seen it yet.

I think that's the only time I've practically jumped out of my seat at a programme aimed at all ages. Can't wait to see what Moffat has in store with the new series.

I know the feeling...it's late at night, and you're just strolling along to the tune of light action music (in-game, that is), when out of nowhere the whole attitude of the enviroment changes and then it attacks you, and your heart skips a beat...or two. I don't know why it happens, but when you're tired, the smallest things will freak you out.

When I was five and I saw The Children of the Corn, I couldn't sleep until the next night.

After beating Silent Hill 3 for the first time, I couldn't go to sleep.

Also, reading something called Creepy Pasta on Encyclopedia Dramatica, I think, is not a good idea at night. Or day for that matter. Some of the stories still haunt me.

And Nightmare Fuel on TV Tropes.

lol! that's funny. Good episode, incidentally. I actually just watched the finale, last one w/ david tennant, was really good.

Hmmm, last thing I saw that really scared me was a couple weeks ago at a friend's place watching hannibal. We were baked off our asses and for some reason it seemed that all that was on tv (or at least all we were watching) was really fucked up, I remember saw 3, jarhead, and yeah hannibal. So I guess that's actually only two really fucked up things, but we watched both of them. Anyway. The only scene I remember from hannibal (and the one that scared me) was hannibal wheeling in this guy while meeting with Clarece, who's skull he had sawed off the top off so his brain was exposed, and he was eating bits and even fed a bit to the guy, who was conscious and talking the whole time... It really got to me at the time, coupled with the used needle pit and guy who wakes up with hooks all in him and whatever else in saw

When I saw arachnophobia as a kid (I still hate spiders), and when I saw the grudge in theatres. After the grudge I couldn't sleep under my blankets or with the lights off for three days.

Well, I'm not going to be sleeping tonight. Why? Quite simple. It is almost 1:45 AM here. And I just finished watching an episode of Doctor Who. Which episode, you may ask? "Blink". If you've seen it, you know. If you haven't, I could describe it to you, but it wouldn't be enough. I went in with a description of the episode...and it wasn't enough. I was sitting at the computer, trembling as I was typing, for the next hour, and I am still looking behind me every so often.

So, have there ever been any moments, on TV or otherwise, that actually scared you to the point of not sleeping that night?
Thats OK, the gas mask zombies asking for their mommy scared the shit out of me.
