Capcom Hints at new Onimusha

So by now we all know about the teaser sites by Capcom and Square Enix yes? Well for Capcom's teaser site, the numbers have been changed from 1560, which was crossed out, then 1573, which was also crossed out, and recently showing 1582.

Some of the Japanese public think they have deciphered the sequence of numbers, as the years of each Onimusha title 1 to 3, and if tomorrow they show numbers near the year 1596, which would correspond with the year Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams was set in, then an Onimusha title could well be likely.

Thoughts? I'm not going to lie, I thought those titles were godlike. I loved every one of them (even 2, which I thought was lacking in a sense). If this is really Onimusha then I might just pass out. My pants grow tight with anticipation.

They weren't the greatest (I played 2) ....but ya it seems that might be the case...might be kool if they made a new one

2 as in you played number 2? Or 2 as in you played 2 different titles in the series? Which one?

DONE, i just read the thing again, ill wait until im done this time, I loved this series, if it is announced i will steal whatever i need to play this if my PS3 is broken when this comes out (unlikely but weirder things have happened) It had better be samonouske and not *shudder* jubei, the french dude was awesome too (his name escapes me)

I kid, but I really don't want it to be him. Hell I don't know if I want it to be Sam or Soki. Soki was good enough for one game, but not more than that. I would like to see a female protagonist in Onimusha, but I think this generation is a bad time for them, they are coming out in droves (Mirror's Edge, Bayonetta, etc).

Jean Reno -was- awesome. Shame about the atrocious dubbing he got after the first few scenes. I didn't really get it. Reno -can- speak english, the dubbing was not needed. Then again, I've got to figure it was a money thing, just couldn't get him for longer than they did.

Hey, Yusaku Matsuda was a legendary actor, whose movies I have never heard of. Though I agree with you, I liked to Jubei Yagyuu in the prototypes of the game (one unlockable trailer from Onimusha 2 showed Jubei with funky hair and an eyepatch).

What a great series, I got into this series a few years ago with the second installment, but have yet to play the third! I've played all but that one and from the vids i've seen it looks great! But remember that there's also a movie that may be in development. Could it be related?

Onimusha 3 is easily one of if not the best one. The fourth one Dawn Of Dreams was amazing as well.

Yeah, Jean Reno is one of the few French people i like, also, remember when whip attack when he tripped up the hammerhead giants? even Samonosuke couldn't do that!

Also if anything, yeah Samonouske has to be the main character, either him or Mitsuhide Akechi, after all it WAS Mitsuhide Akechi who killed Nobunaga Oda.

I meant Yusaku Matsuda, legendary actor, IS Jubei Yagyu. The same reason Jean Reno is Jacques and Takeshi Kaneshiro is Samanosuke. Capcom really likes doing this. That guy from Lost Planet? Korean megastar (in Korea) Byung Hun Lee.

Yeah sorry, I meant MORE like Jubei Yagyu, because he is commonly believed to have two swords and an eyepatch, so they would have gotten the eyepatch part down. Yeah I realise he was an actor and they use big names to star in their games, and I like it (besides 4, as far as I can see he isn't anyone, could be wrong though). Though really it's not just Capcom, many of the companies love doing it.

I guess that's completely dependent on whether they want it to be Nobunaga or not. It would be interesting for a prequel and have it at the heart of the Mongol Invasion (in an Onimusha style of course, demon Mongol Invasion, technically they could still do it) but the website was just updated it says the numbers 1600 now. I was going to say that Nobunaga was dead by around 1580 but then I forgot he's a Demon in the game.

Either way, revived demon Mongol Horde? Yes please.

Just to add insult to injury then, Mitsuhide Akechi killed Nobunaga in the temple of Honojin, its famed for that the temple was on fire and Nobunaga died with the flames surrounding him. It was Mitsuhide who WAS an officer to Nobunaga but Mitsuhide defected and was the direct reason for Nobu's quick death.
