Ohhhh nice.
Iv been wanting to play 4 but cant find a copy of the GC or the Wii version at all.

Hopefully they will be brought over, id gladly get them.
Not even on Amazon.com?

Do we really need a reboot of the game 4? I mean, it was only ONE friggin generation ago. And, some of us got it this generation anyways (we're looking at you, Wii)

Can we just move on to Resi 6?
You got me there.
Still id rather go and buy it in person.
But after looking around amazon...Wii Edition for $11 is hard to pass up.

I think I'd miss the Wii controls horribly.
This, RE4 is one of the few games that WII controls just work well with In my opinion.

OT: it is one of my all time faves, so I will be buying the re-release no matter what.
In fact, this made me want to play it again. So I shall. *finds wiimote*

I... don't really see the point. Counting the Wii version, there already is a current-gen RE4. And Code Veronica has been ported around already after its Dreamcast release.

If Capcom was really smart, they'd continue the old REmake idea and polish up RE2 and 3. Maybe even 1? In a boxset perhaps? Pretty please?

Is it really necessary to update Resi 4? Code Veronica is reasonable but Resi 4 is not that old!

RE4 really doesn't need a revival, it isn't really dead...

I mean, I can just pop my RE4 into my PS3 and pla- oh, wait, backwards compatibility got taken out. Oh, NOW I get it. I'm on to your game, Sony and Capcom.

Id love to see a HD remake of the first 3. You know back when they were more horror than action.

Does Resident Evil 4 really need a makeover? It's not even that old. I thought the graphics were fine, and the gameplay is fun enough that I still take it out once in a while.

On the other hand, I really liked Code: Veronica. It was stupid and cheesy, but for me it was stupid and cheesy in a way that I like, similar to watching bad horror movies on Chiller or FearNet... lots of over-the-top sequences and reveals. I still own the GameCube version of it, but when I try to play it these days, I'm like, my God, how did I ever tolerate RE before it was RE 4?! Within five minutes of combat I want to set the console on fire.

Code: Veronica doesn't need another port, and I won't buy it again if it DOES get ported. What it needs is a gameplay overhaul (I don't care about visuals much) that keeps the derpy story and situations intact while making the combat faster and more fun.

Nice. I played a little RE4 at a friend's PS2 and liked it, but since my PS3 is not backwards compatible I never could complete it. Will be picking this up, the Codename: Veronica is a nice bonus.

What I don't understand is the Code Veronica they're porting is the Dreamcast version. So we'll be missing out on some Wesker. :(

Kickass! I can't wait to see what they do with Code Veronica. Even the slightest upgrades are enough for me since I just really enjoyed that game. RE4 is awesome anyway, I don't mind having another excuse to play it. Thanks Capcom.

Why not pretty up and rerelease the games before the series turned to shit? Gimme RE 1-3. At least they were survival horror and had fucking zombies in them!
And put them on PC too!
If they'd end up turning out like the RE4 PC port, then I say HELL no. That thing was so bad its just stupid. Didn't even have freaking mouse support.

OT: RE4 seems a bit... odd to be remaking, since its not really that old. But whatev's. Doubt I'll get it though. Already have it on the Gamecube. And PS2. And Wii. And PC(Don't get the PC version. Ever).

I approve rehashing old games onto modern consoles for trophy hunting and historical appreciation purposes.

Resident Evil: The best and worse collection...

I can understand them re-releasing Res 4, even though there are about a million versions including the PS 2 version and 5 was basically a re-hash.

But Veronica is a total turkey! I loved it when it came out as it was next gen and more evil in residence but the plot and gameplay is horrible, especially compared to 4. (and plot-wise that is saying something) And you know it will be the usual changing of small gameplay elements and new voice acting so it feels new but what they are really doing is tearing the best part out and...

You get the idea

Capcom Plans Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica Revival

Capcom is resurrecting two Resident Evil games from the previous console generation. The latest issue of Famitsu reveals that Capcom is working on something called Biohazard: Revival Selection - Biohazard being the name for the Resident Evil series in Japan - which contains Resident Evil 4 and the Dreamcast version of Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
Previous console generation? I thought a port of RE4 came out on the Wii close to its release. It was hugely successful. The Wii is still part of the current console generation last I heard.

That said, I don't think I can imagine RE4 on the Kinect, and using something besides a Wiimote will seem awkward now.

"Okay, guys... we admit we screwed up the last game badly, alright? He's something that you liked before to make up for it while we do some soul searching..."
RE5 was a pretty solid game, not the best RE game, but still worth playing through a few times. My problem with remakes or collection type disc is the absurd price and the lack of content. Many if not everyone on earth played RE4, because it was and will always be the best RE title and Code Veronica was a great game too if you did not get to play it on the Dreamcast. That being said, I know that Capcom will likely charge $40 for the two games I have already bought before at full retail price. What Capcom needs to do is work on RE6 like others have said and put more damn content on the disc, like RE1-RE4. Look at the Megaman collections and the Sonic collection (50 games), those are collections I do not feel bad about and do not mind spending $20-30 on collection style disc when there is a lot of contenet . And the sad thing is, that a lot of people will buy it just for RE4 and Capcom will look at this as, "They like it, so we should re-release more of these remakes, again!"

Is this really necessary? I somewhat understand Code Veronica since the game is ~10 years old, but RE4 is only 6 years old, not to mention it already has the perfect port on the Wii. I don't see how giving RE4 RE5 graphics is going to enhance the experience much. I suppose if they integrate Move/Kinect functionality it may give it some legs, but I'd rather just buy back the Wii version I sold last month than throw down $60 to replay a game I've beaten the hell out of already.

A better idea would be to clean up the first 3 games and maybe CV and re-release those in a big megapack, so basically $60 for 3 games at $20 a piece. I know graphics aren't everything but those PS1 games have NOT aged well at all, especially when played on modern HDTVs. Throw a PS1 game into a PS3 if you need more proof of this.

Honestly, I want to be mad about this, but I will buy RE4 in whatever incarnation it comes in.

Damn you, Capcom...
