Buddy, would you like to know what's wrong? You. Not "you" specifically but the consumer that is "you". Capcom is hurting financially right now, they need money. That's why they are re-releasing stuff, plus some stuff has a perfect formula, go ahead and deny but you know it. The re-release, while dumb, is essentially the final draft. Yeah it's bad practice and they know but they owe it to you to put out a gem. They know their making bad decisions right now and they hate it, their one of the few publishers that see fans as more than money bags. When choices like the ones you labelled "bad" came up to Capcom, they essentially summed out to 2 things: A) Gamble and risk it all on some new old IPs, stay strictly an Eastern publisher instead of branching West, and give a small cache of fans what they want and go out in a blaze of glory; or B)Try some new stuff, experiment, release some fan favorite franchises, cancel some good games, and make some unpopular decisions to live to fight another day. Capcom is only doing business, your just refusing to see the truth, and I know that sounds dumb but please do me a favor. AND IF THERE ARE OTHER ENRAGED FANS READING THIS I WOULD LIKE YOU ALL TO DO THE SAME.

As soon as I'm done saying what I'm going to say, I'm going to post a link to a Gameinformer article on this VERY SITUATION. Where Capcom explains it's latest business moves, explains that they know what they did is wrong and mean to the fans, but also says that THEY'RE ALMOST BROKE! Their last year of game sales were bad, real bad. Don't justify the past by blaming other players or the developers, because that's not going to help. We're dealing with the now, the here-and-now. What's happening right now is that Capcom is low on funding, they need to stick to guaranteed profit strategies, i.e re-release and more RE or RE ports/remasteries. And they are trying new stuff that they hope get's profit too or just to branch out and start more franchises for more profit. But they need profit, publishers aren't immortal beings, they need cash to pay people to get the job done. Please read the article IT WILL QUELL YOUR RAGE. I was WAY more pissed than you when I found out about cancelling MML3, but than when I heard about Capcom's current situation explained in this article I thought:"Fair enough. Just keep on keepin' on." Please do this I don't want Capcom to fail just because Capcom is trying to preserve itself for their fans' sake. Just read this please, take five minutes from ranting, read this, than reply to me with what you think. If you don't I'll assume you read it and will no longer vent like this.

While I agree that Capcom have made some momentous fuck ups, particularly in the last couple of years, I can't bring myself to hate them for some reason. Capcom, Konami, Sega and Nintendo are the four companies I can just never bring myself to hate no matter how much they fuck up

I have a very strange relationship with Capcom.

I hate they're business practices, I hate that they haven't regionalised any Monster Hunter games in a good long time.

But I always love everything I buy from them and I can't stay mad at them.

It's quite odd.

Honestly - and I know I'm going to get a lot of crap for this - Capcom was NEVER good. It was always a cheap, and greedy unstable company who only cared about the quantity of games they release. Many of gamers feel compassion towards Capcom, but that's only because they grew up playing their awful games...no offence intended...

On the one hand I think that cancelling MegaMan Legends 3 was a bad idea as it was a solid series with a loyal following. On the other hand it amuses me to no end with Capcom trolling MegaMan fans* by refusing to include him in Marvel vs. Capcom 3/Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The reason for that being that the MegaMan fans who've made their displeasure with this fact known are some of the whiniest most entitled twats I've ever had the misfortune of running into on the internet. Fuck them. Also Capcom supported SOPA so fuck them too.

*The trolling would be having multiple other characters (Zero and Tronne Bonne) from the MegaMan franchise in the game, giving one of those characters a MegaMan alternate costume, giving Frank West a MegaMan alternate costume and adding a couple more MegaMan themed stages in Ultimate. Priceless. I hope they eventually give every character in the game a MegaMan alternate costume just to piss of the legion of whiny MegaMan fans.

I don't know, Capcom doesn't piss me off like they should have because I've come to learn from my mistakes with them.

Back when SF4 came out I bought it. Played it for a while and enjoyed it. THEN they released SSF4. I thought "what the hell...I just bought SF4....ugh."

Then when Capcom announced MvC3, I knew this was coming. I purposefully did not buy it because I learned from my mistake the first time. Now I can purchase UMvC3 and be happy.

What I think most people are forgetting about this issue (releasing another version of the same game so soon) is Capcom is not forcing you to buy it. They aren't putting a gun to your dogs head and saying "buy this new release or Fido paints the walls!" You all have choice in this matter.

Now, as for cancelling games, ignoring fans etc. No excuse. However, you still have power by not buying anything they make.

I actually enjoyed Mega Man X8 immensely. Point on the other 3, though.

X1-X3 were great.
X4 was basically perfect.
X5 was decentish.
X6 was sub-decentish
X7 is the only one I've never played.
X8 was kinda cool I think, but I honestly barely played it and barely remember it.

If Capcom can make a sequel worthy of Megaman X4....I'll forgive everything and then some.


They'll get a huge mountain of goodwill from me if they come out with good PlayStation 3 (4?) sequels to Darkstalkers, Megaman Legends, Megaman (in the style of Megaman 8), Megaman X (in the style of Megaman X4, NOT X5/X6), The Misadventures Of Tron Bonne, Okami, and Breath Of Fire.

If they manage this feat I will immediately rank them alongside Valve as being teh winsauce.

X7 is the only one I've never played.

X7 was the only one I hated so much that I sold it back to Gamestop without finishing it. It was a broken, horrible game, and you missed nothing.

Do try to find a copy of X8 and play it all the way through, though. It was a good game that did not get the exposure it deserved. I actually put it up there with the first four.

So I have to sit here while they just rerelease SF and UMvC many more times and then be told that thats all they'll release again after they go back into the black because "its the safest thing to do"?

Fuck that shit. In my opinion Capcom is a mix of Nambai and Activision.
