Wrex goes back to the Krogan homeworld if he survives and retries that whole thing that failed when his father betrayed him. You actually team up with Garrus again, although I don't know if he joins the squad. You can meet the human you let live in the first game though I don't know where. Liara can die in a fire for all I care.

Wait, people actually liked Wrex?
Yes, everyone except you acknowledged that he was the greatest fictional character ever and that not having him in your squad is stupid.

Bioware mentioned that they wanted to leave some squad-mates secret. It's practically confirmed now that Garrus is a squad-mate but were not sure about Legion (The Geth) yet and there might be some we don't know about at all.

Bioware have basiclly fucked themselves over here. As in ME1 they claimed that the romances would be 'part of a greater story' and wern't just a 'cheap marketing technique' and then decide to not put the romance people into the party??? Whaaaa???

Hopefully they are just keeping a really close scret and the original cast will still have a large part. I want Joker and Ashley back!
Joker is still piloting a Bioware said they would have emails etc to do with your romances from the first game if you want.

What's the point of playing ME2 with your ME1 character-save if none of the old gang come along for the ride?

So that your decisions carry over? Did you kill the Rachni? Did you save Feros? Did you kill Ashley or Kaiden? Did Wrex die? Did you turn over Anoleis and convince Mr. Qui'in to testify? Did you scan all the keepers? Did you save the Council? Who did you suggest for the Council spot, Udina or Anderson?

Just some of the choices out there.

Isn't the Illusive Man meant to be a party member in some respect? I remember hearing talk that Garrus would be making a return (which would be fucking awesome) as well.
I don't think that the Illusive man is a party member per se, I'm guessing he's more like Admiral Hackett in that he contacts you with information about things you can check out.

Garrus isn't going to be a PC in the game. There's probably a long story arc where you're working with him but I think that's about it. And that sucks.

One thing here did confound me: Romance with Wrex??? That was sarcastic. Right...?

But I have to agree with Quad08, too many speculations and jumping to conclusions, while the game isn't out yet.... But that's the be expected, it's that way with any sequel to a good game.

on ME1 I only chose my favorite team mates after I got to test them all. And I went through all their plot lines in two games to try mots of the options, and I tended to like the characters based on what their personality turned out on the way to the end. Which leads me to believe all the speculation is useless until we play the game. Opinions will change, probably drastically.

Right now the character roster looks quite amazing! Definitely better. It has bout 5 more than the first game! The first one had less characters than any other bioware game I can remember! And the fact the sequel has more race options (teammate wise) is also a great pro as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway. This is, by far, the only game I'm seriously waiting for this year (unless they make a Witcher sequel....)

They give me a galaxy to explore but I can't jump? Fuck off.
LOL. Jumping is an interesting thing, it's not needed for many games, but it's absence is noticeable.

If Liara isn't in the game at some point, I will be pissed off at no end. Not only are full biotics overpowered, she is a hot blue alien.

What I really want is to get some Elcor, Volus and Hannar in the party.

ME2 is looking less and less "Empire Strikes Back" and more and more "Prequel Trilogy".

Sure, its fancier looking, has more explosions and better effects, and can even be entertaining, but it does it at the expense of everything that the first one had made many people care about.

Yes, a Hanar party member would be awesome. Then you could solve your problems with diplomacy! And if that doesn't work, I'm sure a Hanar can hold about six pistols.

Um...are you serious? Way to miss the point.

Anyway, I think most of you are jumping to conclusions on this one. We haven't seem any of them, save Tali and Garrus, in anything other than short trailers. There's no way we're going to see the depth in any of them just yet. Hell, I wouldn't even want to, that would spoil the game. Then again, I could just be happy that my favorite squad member, Tali, is back.

You don't need to. Just take a tally.

They've replaced the interesting, varied cast from the first game with a copy-pasted psychopath one about 6 times, then added a couple throwaway characters and kept 2 of the old ones.

They're forcing players to work with the organization many of them swore to destroy in the first one, without even giving us a choice as to what to do about it.

They keep going on about fancier graphics and technology and combat, when that was never what the first one was about or recommeded for (or recieved high marks for).

They keep going about how this game is going to be so great, but yet they've offered nothing to convince to give up the $60 or $70 for it.

How do you know that about the characters? Have you seen anything other than those 5 minute trailers for them yet? I bet that there's a good deal more depth to them than it seems right now, even if you have to dig for some of them.

So we've got Samara, Miranda, Subject Zero, Jakobs, Thane, Grunt and Tali. That leaves 2 left to find out, and sofar we only have Tali from the original cast.
Garrus (aka Archangel) and Legion (aka the geth).

The ME1 Love Interests will feature in the game but be unrecruitable; see, any of your squad members can die and Bioware want to keep the LIs alive until Mass Effect 3, which they couldn't do if you'd got them recruited and killed.
And let's face it, a suicide mission isn't something you're going to recruit your love interests into.

She is; she works for the Shadow Broker now.

1) Repentant assassin? Sentient artificial life-form obsessed with your main character? 'Space Sheriff' blue woman with crazy psychic powers?
Krogan in general are badass, and Tali's ass is far from bad.

2) There's a good reason for that which you may or may not know:
They resurrect you

3) I don't think you've been following the right game. They've fixed the inventory and squad control systems; you can upgrade your ships, weapons, armour; you have a goddamn fish tank.

We know nothing about the characters outside of a 1 minute trailer each thus far and the original cast interesting? Im sorry I played MAss Effect over 4 times by now, several of the recorded lines are identical irregardless of what ally you bring merley done by a different voice. The allies were interesting enough if not abit flat why did Wrex choose ot stay after killing fist some clarification would be nice, how about more conversation outside of the 8 hour main quest which for an rpg was appauling.

And what is a better writing narrative to you? Painting Cerberus as pure black mwahahah evil or giving us a chance to see how they run more intimatley, see the people behind it why they do what they do rather than U R BAD SO DIE NAO.
