Currently, for me, it's the entire SNK (Attack on the Titans) series. I watched it, and I think the story and animation is great... but the characters are just kind of... mehhhh.

It actually kind of annoys me how much the internet seems to be obsessing over it. It's an okay series but come on, there's no character development at all. (Except maybe Armin...)

Duke Nukem - He's basically the ultimate misogynistic jerk in full power fantasy mode. I also don't get why he's liked by gamers considering if many of them met him in high school, he'd be the one stuffing their heads into toilets. It also doesn't help that many of his lines are stolen from other properties and he's claiming them as his own without irony.
You do know that Duke Nukem isn't a real person, and thus can't "claim" anything, right?

Anyway, Sarah Kerrigan from StarCraft and SC 2.

I liked the Zerg so much better when they were commanded by a giant disembodied floating eyeball with a cool voice than being commanded by a HR Giger wet dream with built in stiletto heels who gets her hair-care tips from the Predator. It's also annoying that she whines constantly about how she was betrayed, but that betrayal turned her into the most powerful creature in the Universe and she constantly talks about how awesome that is.

And Batman. I don't hate him but I actually didn't really dislike him till the Arkham games, and it gets boring how often they try and constantly shove into our face how ridiculously awesome he is. I'm sorry, but no person without superpowers, even if they never slept one minute and devoted every minute of every day to training and learning, could possibly be an expert on as many different things as he is supposed to be.

Gordon Freeman from half life.

the guy has no personality what soever.

Yea yea yea i know its for "Immersion" but I have 3 issues with that

1) why then does he have a set name face back-story and gender if your going to make a blank slate make it 100% blank.

2) even if he didn't have those things a chacter not saying a word while everyone else speaks is annoying.

3) Mass effect proved you can have a voiced protagonist without hurting immersion.

Morrigan from dao. I get that she is damaged and stuff but honestly she just seems to want to be evil for the sake of it.

I hated Lum in urusei yatsutora. I didn't like her as a heroine and I thought shinobu should have been the focus of the relationship within the story.

Rob Stark: Just kill Jiame Lannister! Seriously just kill him! keeping him alive serves you no purpose! Oh, great you're going to let your mom kidnap him and set him free? Great! Way to wear the pants *****.

Daenerys: I heard that in the book she's 13 years old, which would make her character amazing. But in the HBO version she's 26 which makes her seem... um, mentally...slow, because she still acts like an emotional teenager
Just going along with what ever her big brother says, asking a prostitute to teach her how to manipulate men, going mad with power. Wild mood swings between insincere benevolence and ruthless petty revenge. Slinging threats at literally the only people standing between her and starving to death. Which would all make sense for a stupid teenager, but as an adult, she's just stupid.[/spoiler]
@Rob Stark.
He wanted to kill him. he was talked into leaving him alive because as long as they hold him hostage Lanisters will not date to kill Sansa and Arya (they think Lanisters got her, they dont know she escaped). I think thats a faily compelling argument that kept him alive.

@Daenerys.
I agree that the way she was portrayed in the show is not the best, but yes in the book she is 13 years old and that does explain A LOT. as you know in television kids are always palyed by 20s because of a tremendeous legal problems with needing kid actors (the parents must always be nearby and give permission for example). Also try to tell a 13 year old act out Daenerys sex scene.... yeah.... She is lost in the books and evne tohugh she pretends to be "As strong as dragons" shes just a kid inside and veri naive. I do liek her character though, although its not my favourite one (that would be Jon Snow or Sam).

About Rob: Kill him! Don't announce to the world that you have! How hard is it to lie about that?
(Is it hypocritical that I can hate Rob for not killing Jiame, but have Jiame be one of my favorite characters? Because I don't think so._

about Daenerys: the difficulties of casting a kid should have been considered because of how much it effects the over all quality of the show. and there are numerous ways to shoot "around" a sex scene.
Like a wide shot with crying and grunting. or a REALLY wide shot with lots of implied crying and grunting.

It could have worked. But I'm pretty sure they just wanted to show tits.

Ned and Rob Stark: Pretentious, hypocritical dickbags whose 'honor' which they judged others so harshly by is more of an easily-ignored guideline for them.

Sherlock: Hes a douchebag. no that is literally it. He doesn't have a single redeeming character trait. He's horrible to Sally and Anderson for literally no reason.

They're dicks to him too.

He's not a character. He has a name and a very basic history because the player and other characters all need a point of contextual reference. Oh, and Mass Effect is not a first-person shooter. Immersion and what you expect from it works differently.

You just have to remember this: when people vote Gordon Freeman to the top of best character lists, they're either taking the piss out of you or they're voting for him not because he's a great character (because he isn't a character) but because he's the most iconic icon to them.

OT: I don't hate her but Clementine ain't that fucking great. Same goes for John Marston - it's like they had two people writing him who would alternate days and never interact.

Ema Skye from Phoenix Wright. Seriously it's like somebody went out of their way to tell her false information as a joke and never got around to her they were kidding.
I can't even finish the part of the game she's in because nearly every single thing she says in headache inducing.

Pretty much every player character in every FPS that don't keep their mouth shut. Everytime they say anything it's only for breaking immersion in the game and sometimes very retarted talks.

Akane from Ranma1/2. I just...I fucking hate this *****. She's just kind of...there. She never improves in her fighting abilities outside of one chapter only power-ups. Her entire character can be summed up as "extremely violent and insecure, and we have to be told she's a nice person constantly by other characters." Actively hitting people who annoy her with the power to crush stone. And she only seems to exist to be kidnapped, and side with the villains over the main character. And she's the main character's love interest.

Kagome from Inuyasha. I...don't like Inuyasha anymore. I like the character Inuyasha just fine, surprisingly, it's just how the story revolves around Kagome that kills it for me. She's a Mary Sue.

The Cerpenter family in The Dresden Files. Outside of Michael. He's cool. I just...don't like any of them, I guess. The mother just seems to hate everything outside of when something can help her, two of her children are just...there. And Molly...becomes kind of a ***** after a certain event on a boat that I won't spoil.

This one isn't exactly "hate" as more I don't really have much an opinion on. Luna from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I much preferred Nightmare Moon as a character, in the two episodes we saw her in. I have nothing against the character, it's just that...we don't really know anything about her. Fans of her usually aren't fans of her, more than they are fans of their fanon version of her.

I didn't really like Pearl in Phoenix Wright all too much. It's less hate though. More...general dislike.

K-9 from doctor who. The sound of his voice alone makes me want to hurl my TV out the window and pay some hobbos to stand and stomp on it for the next 48 hours

Boba fett from star wars. He does absolutely nothing actually interesting and has the weakest cinematic death ever

Batman from..... You'll figure that out on your own. I didn't start out hating him, I Fucking loved him. But what the batman franchise has become is down right embarrassing and stupid

Dude... you took my answer. Like, reason and everything.

Other than Spongebob I don't have any character whom I really "hate". I dislike a lot of characters who's character traits are "Zany", but because they are they are given what amounts to super powers, which everyone accepts because they are so "Cu-Ray-Zee".

Because in war there are no spies and somone as important as Jiame wouldnt be spotted missing. riiiight.
HBO has never "Shot around" anything in source material. They dont even have control, Martin kinda does what he pleases with the show. GOT was never shy of its sex scenes. and sex scene is only one problem of a myriad of problems with casting a child actor in a seriuos show. and GOTY takes itself extremely seriuos.

Well if we were to consdier the ages, then we would be without the show to begin with, since pretty much all main characters are bellow 18. well not all of course, but for example ROB is what 15 if i remember correctly. there is a reason they treat him as a kid when he first tries to start the war.

HBO did the traditional thing, added 10 years to the character when considering casting.

Ah Johnny from ed edd and eddy. Annoying little twat and I can never get that sound out of my head from the episode where he cracks his fingers really loud and I'm now convinced that's why I want to kill anyone who does that around me.
