I mean Alister. I wish he had kicked the bucket.
At least Alistair had less trust issues haha. Bear in mind he had an inferiority complex instead, but whatever.

SHODAN. For Christ's sake woman (machine/A.I./whatever) die already, I've killed you twice.

*watches last cutscene of System Shock 2*

Oh you *****.

Also, Lee Adama in the new Battlestar Galactica, am I the only one who noticed that for most of the series he was either incompetent or just whiny?

"Oh no I have so many attractive women coming after me, what will I do. My dad is way cooler then me so I'm going to be angsty about it. I'm going to pilot the Pegaseus into the middle of a Cylon battle group and let it blow up even though it's the only way we can construct Vipers. I am a frakking badass."

Sam Fisher's daughter "Whats-Her-Face." The "It was all a conspiracy" way of explaining deaths has been done and overdone.

I'm sorry, but the title is really horrible:
Characters that should have died.
OT: Everyone from Gears of War.

Whats this from? I know I know the name Nines.
Nines Rodriguez is the leader of the Anarchs, one of the three factions vying for control of the LA area in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

.
Ive never played the game. I might pick it up eventually.

Damn, now thats going to annoy me
I bought the game when it came out (2004) and just played it two weeks ago (for the first time ever). I'd say it is most similar to Deus Ex. In fact, it was basically the game I wanted Deus Ex: Invisible War to be. It's a solid (if a bit buggy and janky in places) game that often offers many different solutions to a problem depending upon clan choices and how you parcel out your experience. I played as a Tremere so I mostly resolved problems with blood magic and bullets as they seemed to mesh well.

It looks like it is available on Steam for 20 bucks which I'd say is a fair price all told. The game took me about 20 hours to beat and I could see playing it at least one more time to try a different build.

Make certain you use WESP5's patch.

Tried it as part of a bundle of patches and mods. I didn't really care for the result and just went with the true patch instead. Apparently, flame war must now ensue between us according to the internet.

In fairness that is quite an accurate interpretation of the character in the Iliad itself.

OT: Neo. As in at the end of the first movie.

Rico should have died instead of Razek in the Starship Troopers CG cartoon. The older soldiers were just much more likeable/worth something than the young trio (Rico, Dizzy and Higgins......eh maybe not Higgins).
Yeah but Razack dying added to his badassery and the faithfulness of the book.

I think Warfield should have died at the end of Starcraft II. Giving Raynor the position of General maybe?

Revolver Ocelot. It would have been so much easier and so much more meaningful if he had died rather than shoved in Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2.

Alyx Vance.

Being brought to tears by fictional character deaths makes me feel strangely satisfied.
Eli was a start, but killing off the main supporting character whom the player spends half of the series makes for the saddest death scenes.

He does in Ending E.

I disagree, firstly it was a classic off screen death and if we've learnt anything from comics, movies and tv someones not dead till we've seen their mutilated body (and perhaps not even then).

Secondly yes you physically cannot kill the werewolf (except for the awesome crushing that I personally discovered completely by accident and loved). But Nine's is older and potentially more powerful than you. He's at least 80 years old which isn't that much compared to some elders, but you're not even a year old (but you're meant to have amazing potential). Also in the RPG, which I've not had a lot of experience with, but generation descended from an antidiluvian also equals power. So Nines may be relatively young but might have been sired by a powerful elder.

Next he's a Brujah, two of their main powers revolve around speed (celerity) and strength (potence?). If you have high enough celerity out-maneuvering the werewolf is a lot easier. Finally the were-wolf and him were both tumbling down a steep mountain. It not un-imaginable that Nine used his speed to ride the were-wolf gandalf style making sure it took the large brunt of the damage, before having a brutal fight where he killed the wounded were-wolf with his brute strength (+/- the desert eagle and grenades we know he might be carrying).

And even then Nine's was in such a condition that he was almost dead at least a day later, as you leave the park just before dawn, spend a night in your haven, then make the run for the cab. We're talking creatures that can basically fully regenerate with enough blood, so to still be wreaked enough not to be able to help you means he was probably very close to dead when he was found.

Now whether or not it would be a better plot point for him to be dead is another issue. But it's not impossible.

EVERYONE on CSI: Miami. Here are the reasons:(Its like watching DragonballZ.)

Speedle: Okay he did bite the bullet, but sadly it was because his sidearm wasn't clean. Not even a fun way to die you guys!

Wolfe: Shot in the eye with a nail gun, suffers only slight temporary eye damage and it all goes away as if it was never there. Not even a scar.(technically the nail was lodged near the upper sinus cavity but the 'infection' he supposedly got, didn't last for long and the keratitis he was supposed to have never physically appeared and vanished after it was mentioned.) He only had a few episodes where he was having vision troubles.

Delko: has been shot in the head and survives (and get this, was shot in the back of the head...not majorly survivable unless shot at a severely downward and or upward angle, which it wasn't...actually it was a random angle, all we know is it ends up in the back of his head.)without too much repercussion save some temporary memory loss and a few screw ups here and there in an episode.

Horatio: Has a taco neck injury of some sort. Seriously I never see his head sitting straight on his shoulders, its always veering off as if to escape the show. He has faked his death and in that same episode REVEALED that he faked his death to people who weren't supposed to know...yeah...

Alexx: The coroner survives a grenade in her morgue along with everyone else in the main cast because, y'know tables can protect from close range grenades.(Srsly nobody was injured)

Calleigh: Survives two burning houses with the only major consequence being her respiratory issues that last only as long as the episodes said burning houses took place in.

Boa Vista: survives an exploding meth lab and has slight hearing damage that they've yet to develop much on but, if her fellows are any indication, she'll be back to normal in no time.

Okay seriously someone has to be doling out the Phoenix Downs for these people. They really bloody have to, to have a cast this immortal. At least in Star Trek the technology made it believable but STILL! This is supposed to be a show that is a facsimile of real life on some level. NOBODY gets shot in the head and only suffers MINOR brain damage that's easily reparable. Least of all those who are being showered with bullets!

Now, don't get me wrong, I think imagination and fantasy pertaining to technology advancement and where we wish we were generally with tech is fun and ultimately useful because without the inspiration of fantasy some things don't come into reality that should. (Remember ye olde Star Trek? You can thank them for cellphones XD)And its stupid to just autokill your main cast all the time because not giving characters a chance to develop, honestly you wouldn't have a story. But part of character building is well...suffering. And yeah I'll say that the Miami cast does its fair share of that, but they're always like right back into work, a few snippets of "Oops that's not the same" here and there, but ultimately they all go back to normal. (If you can consider watching Horatio's head roll around on his shoulders a normal work day activity)

I think now that we've gotten the "We can survive exploding houses, bullets, and nails to the face" thing out of the way, perhaps they should work on psychological suffering not pertaining to workplace injury. (Sorry 'bout the gigantic rant Escapists. A friend of mine loves this series and made me sit down with her and watch a freakin' box set. I facepalmed so many times during said watching that I eroded my forehead and may never get it back.)Alright, end rant. XD

Shadow the Hedgehog in SA2.

Say what you want towards sonic games, but in my opinion,Sonic Adventure 1+2 are the last sonic games worth playing (aside from rush). I'm not a sonic fan, nor do I play sonic games anymore, but it would be alot more meaningful when Shadow crashed into the earth and never seen again; instead of this android bullcrap.

Malashenko in World in Conflict: Soviet Assault (for the ones of you that own that game). He was just constantly being a ruthless asshole and then he killed his general (the only decent Soviet in that game), and took his command. Although to be fair you could assume that he dies when he returns to Seattle.
