I came across this silly little quiz for checking your privilege and I thought some people on the Escapist might like to have go.

You just tick the boxes that are relevant to you and it gives you your privilege score out of 100.

http://www.buzzfeed.com/regajha/how-privileged-are-you

I got 64/100 so I'm quite privileged, I've had some struggles but my life has been easier than most.
I would say that's pretty spot on.

Keep in mind that it's a Buzzfeed quiz so it's not exactly super cereal, I just thought it would be a bit of fun to see people's scores.

70/100

You?re quite privileged. You've had a few struggles, but overall your life has been far easier than most. This is not a bad thing, nor is it something to be ashamed of. But you should be aware of your advantages and work to help others who don?t have them. Thank you for checking your privilege.

Well, better go volunteer at the orphanerium, and also donate my bones to science.

53/100. Apparently still above the "quite privileged" line, which I wouldn't deny, though a few of those answers are liable to change over the course of the next year.

What's the perspective. National?,Global?, Historical? Because on a historical scale, I could live in a dumpster and my life would still be in the top 50%.

I got a cool 60/100, which was not unexpected. Though some of the questions where kind of weird; one of them was about unpaid internships, and I haven't had any. BUT, I did have a paid internships at a prestigious company. So, shouldn't that possibility be factored in?

I got a 47 out of 100. Something seems wrong here... I bet it was all that being not protestant in a conservative area that pushed it towards the low end... xD

Corrected for that I'm sure it'd be much higher.

On a related note, I got a 9/100 on the how white are you quiz... that seems really wrong xD

I answered honestly I swear!

Helps that most of my time is spent at home, so any question about whether a person has called me something or treated me worse due to something gets an automatic no because I barely interact with people in the first place.

63/100... But i have to note this questionnaire has questions that are useless depending on where you live. For instance "You don't have a student loan" or "your parents paid for your tuition", since tuition over here costs around 500-1000? per year (and the poorest get some extra aid) i don't think many people have student loans or aren't subsidized by their parents. Same goes for healthcare questions, we have State Healthcare insurance, if someone cannot afford medication they must be doing something wrong :S

And what about "There is a place of worship for my religion in my town." (and other similar questions), i'm an agnostic, what's a place of worship for my religion supposed to be :/

82/100: The most privileged.

You?re among the most privileged people in the world. We don?t live in an ideal world, but you happened to be born into an ideal lot. This is not a bad thing, nor is it something to be ashamed of. It just means a lot of other people in the world don?t live life with the advantages you have, and that?s something you should always be aware of. Hey, the fact that you took the time and effort to check your privilege means that you?re already trying.

Hum, I feel odd for having the highest score so far. Can't really say I feel like this is accurate though, since there are plenty of situations that apply to where I live that are not on the list. Seems an American-centric list and not a situational one.

Dude...what the f*ck? You use AT&T?!

OT: 40 out of 100. It says "Not Privileged". Some of those questions could have gone either way, though, so it could have come out with about 8 more points of difference if I'd answered differently. I feel somewhat more privileged than that, it makes things sound worse than they are, at least for me.

It's clearly supposed to be a Starbucks.

OT: I have to agree with your assessment. Where I live tuitions are 90% paid for by the state, and those who use the student loan programs tend to be those who are of very low income families (though amazingly 97% pay their fees back on schedule).

Damn, so i have no place of worship in my town. As far as i know there is only one in my country. My religion is being discriminated against :(

On a more serious note i would also like to add i find it weird they asked whether you were white, male and straight. This seems redundant considering many questions were specifically trying to pinpoint if you face issues which are linked to the "white straight male" privilege. I mean, if you're a black gay muslim and you've never faced any discrimination because of it how does being black, gay and muslim somehow makes you less privileged? Does the questionnaire assume white straight men are inherently superior? (Which is the only way to justify those three traits to be considered a privilege when taking into account the fact external factors were already covered by the other questions)

If you are not USA student this questionnaire misses on relevance of something like 50% of questions. As someone who lives in relatively poor mostly racially hegemonic country that just recently got religious revitalization on ridiculous level (with all moronic new habits something like that brings) most of those simply don't make sense.

Yes, I'm white, heterosexual, atheist, never questioned my sexuality (although did experiment with homosexual porn in teen years), attending university, working two jobs, having white fiancee with far greater educational accomplishments and we still have something like 4 bucks a day for food. Yea, don't really feel privileged here. And test gave me 78 points.

Hmm, 55/100. It's a bit lower than what I expected, but still fits in the 'quite privileged' category. But yeah, some of the questions didn't feel that relevant since I don't live in the US.

'Quite Privileged'

And I'm aware of it. I just hope I don't waste my life with the resources I have been graciously given to me by my family.

You live with 36 out of 100 points of privilege.

You?re not privileged at all. You grew up with an intersectional, complicated identity, and life never let you forget it. You?ve had your fair share of struggles, and you?ve worked hard to overcome them. We do not live in an ideal world and you had to learn that the hard way. It is not your responsibility to educate those with more advantages than you, but if you decide you want to, go ahead and send them this quiz. Hopefully it will help.
