I hope that the kids were warned that the Cake is a lie. Though I have to say this is amazing!

Why are these kids singing this inappropriate song? "Appease my nerdy desires, children! Nerrrrrrr!"

According to the guy's blog, the kids not only knew what they were singing, some of them had actually played the game.

(Of course, that means the only possible explanation is that Valve payed them to perform this so that the kids and their parents would all go out and play the game through to find out what the song was all about and therefor get addicted to Valve games. Poor guys. They're all going to go into withdrawals waiting for Episode 3 to come out...)

God, that was incredibly flat! And you call yourself singers? What kind of crap is that, I've seen grandmothers on crystal meth sing better than you insignificant piles of putrid cassarole for voices! GOD

OT: I can only imagine what the parents were thinking when they were listening to the lyrics. Kudos to the choir director for actually having some fun with it! I'm still begging my choir teacher to let us do Baba Yetu [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G30MhXmlZGE] from Civ4

My only regret is I didn't get the chance to sing this when I was in a choir in primary school. I'm glad that things like this are happening as it allows more integration of computer games and is helping bust myths about computer games being centralised around violence, sex and drugs, they're designed for adults only and it only leads to violence.

Honestly, it's an exciting move in the right direction and, I will admit, it will be funny when the children eventually try the game.

Awwwwwwwwww..... so ADORABLE!!!!!!

Sure, they are a little bit off, but that's what makes it so damn CUTE!!!!
Agreed :)
Well it would be good, but the sound quality ruins it.

It's weird, I found "The Cake is a Lie!" scrawled on a public bathroom door before I saw this.

I wonder what the parents thought, as many Escapists here thought about the same thing, parents thinking about what the hell was going on. What a weird thought, of everyone to have the same thoughts, anyways.

/confusing? sentence over

Fucken beautiful. Played this song at my friends funeral. His eyesight was so bad that he was legally blind in one eye but he loved computer games cos could see games on a computer screen up really close, he just loved Portal. He also had his pre-order receipt for Crysis framed.

I liked that. aside from the novelty of a childrens choir singing this song, it also just manages to make "Still Alive" seem not quite as tired to the average person who has now heard more times than they would like to.

All through the video, I as wondering what that arrangement of floating lights and what looked like a small display were. I suppose that they turned out to be the mysterious "third grader"...
