Actually, it's very not clever. The proper protest would have been if droves of people specifically refused to buy the game. In essence, they paid the developers money so that they could log onto their servers and protest. At which point the GMs in the game just swept them aside when they got to be a hassle.
Actually, it is more effective, getting the point across. Boycotting something outside of the game would just make the players profiting from the game just shrug their shoulders and say, oh well. But actually going in game, blocking access into cities where the profiting players need to be to..profit is a big sign that regular players are annoyed at this. I have to wonder how many real life plant managers wish they could just poof strikers into the wilderness or a BLACK ROOM! Bwahahahahaha!
That's my only actual concern after reading this. Did they have a "Black Room"(Dick Cheney's man-sized safe) ready for all games?
Why is no one else seeing how non-Communist China is?
The Capitalist companies/influeneces get their say everytime, and the community and consumers simply have to shut up/be harassed/Tianamen Square everytime there is lead in the milk or mines collapse on them.
It's like the whole country is Enron, even in the videogames.
