Glad to hear it. Nice to see a successful, lucrative franchise that's willing to stick to just being a trilogy rather than trying to drag it out or do prequels or side stories or something.

Oh, and when they do the reboot, can we maybe see him don a costume that isn't all black?
The Rocksteady games showed that the traditional comic book appearance could be adapted to a more realistic, gritty environment and still look intimidating and cool.

And wanted to see Nolan's take on Robin eventually.
I was kinda hoping his interpretation would be "he never existed."
I think he could have done a good take on Robin if he used Jason Todd as Robin.

would have been a better robin. I think we can all safely agree.

robin as stoner hobo found in alleyway. genius. master stroke

Nolan has been saying for a while that TDKR would be his final film.

Good for him, it shows that he isnt in it just for the money, and it shows integrity on his part, something that everyone should respect.

I must say, I am not that saddened by this news. Bale is a fine actor in most points, but his Batman voice was just silly to me.

Prior to this, the duo was tied with Michael Keaton and Tim Burton (but we can all agree that those Batman movies weren't nearly as good as <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Begins-Blu-ray-Christian-Bale/dp/B000PC6A3E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322515119&sr=8-1>Batman Begins and <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Knight-BD-Live-Blu-ray/dp/B001GZ6QEC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322515130&sr=8-1>The Dark Knight).
HAHAHA, no.

Others have stated it, Bale is a terrible batman, a good Bruce Wayne, God that voice will make me cringe for years to come.

And I'm not too sure I like Anne Hathaway as catwoman, but, you know, it can't be worse than Halle Berry, so I'll give her a shot. The villains do tend to be pretty awesome in Nolan's batman movies, I will give it that much.

Kevin Conroy will always be the best Batman for the same reason Peter Cullen will always be the best Optimus Prime. They ARE the voices for these characters.

I will be in the minority and agree with Mike that Nolan's Batman was better.

one reason i like Nolan's batman is what this man [http://www.youtube.com/user/sfdebris] said about it here [http://blip.tv/sf-debris-opinionated-reviews/the-dark-knight-review-1-batman-has-no-limits-5207805]

Ironically, i recall Burton's Batman to be pretty gritty too. It felt really grounded. Up until they rolled out the Batmobile that is XD

jack's Joker was closer to the Joker in the Comic, but i adore Heath's Joker more because it felt so much more likely for a super villain to actually exist as a psychotic genius rather than just plain bipolar insanity.

I keep getting the feeling that most people prefer Burtons batman over Nolans is simply due to nostalgia, but whatever. I prefer Nolans hands down and im glad this will be their last (dont ruin a good thing and all that).

That would mean Nightwing never existed. A world without Nightwing is a world I dont wont to live in.
So, you don't exist in this realm. The fourth dimension, right? I heard that Time is pretty insane over there.

It's good to stick to a set amount of movies. Try to drag it out and you end up with Batman & Robin. Now I quite enjoy Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. But it doesn't diminish how much fun I had with Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns. It is the same as with the comics. You can enjoy Frank Miller's take on the Caped Crusader while also enjoying the standard fare that DC presented. Saying one is better than the other because of the timing is just being a wee-bit narrow minded. You may as well say The Batman Movie with Adam West is complete trash, even though you actually enjoyed it when that one came out. One thing that makes me growl is how much Zero Mostel gets forgotten when people want to talk about the Joker on film. His take is just as good as Mark Hamill's, whose own Joker is a world apart from Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. Put the four together, however, you would have Mostel's Joker crying in a corner for his life, Hamill's either having left the building or coming up with some invention to take out the other three, and Jack's and Heath's sharing their proposals on the best way to make Gotham burn. Jack J having goals, and Heath J having none.

Good to hear. Means they won't keep on making movies that get worse as they go along. Looking forward to the new movie, though I wish they'd called it "The Caped Crusader" or something instead.

I was really hoping ( of course this was predicated on the GL film NOT sucking) for a Justice League film with him as The Caped Crusader. Who Knows maybe if the Superman film is any good this idea might get some traction, and he could be convinced.

Thank God. I thought he was an absolutely terrible Batman. I guess I am the only one who didn't care for those movies at all.

Im glad he moved on. While The Bale Batman was no bad in any way, dwelling too long in same place is wrong. And Bale can be much more diverse than that. He is an awesome actor and should really show hi face more (instead of being masked, get it?).
