What was the one thing you always wanted for Christmas as a kid but never received?

For me it would have to be Resident Evil 2.

Oh, man, for some reason, I was expecting a thread for discussion about Christmas as a religious holiday, and how it's changed over the years, and what people think of what it was and what it's become... I'm disappointed now...

Anyway... Um... Oh yeah! A computer. I mean, I have, and have had a computer, but three years in a row, my dad promised me a nice, shiny, new computer, complete with the processing power and video capabilities to keep me up-to-date for at least a year or two.

Maybe this year I'll get that goddamned Christmas sex and find out what all the hubbub is about.

I am not about discussing religion. I hate the topic.

No, no, not a discussion about religion. A discussion about the changes that Christmas has undergone over the years, and what people think about its current state in comparison to its original intent. Religion might come up, but it comes up in lots of stuff, and would hopefully not be the focus of the discussion.

I think I may have to make my own thread for this...

I don't mean to brag, but i dont normally get disappointed on christmas. when i was 4 my mom saved up all year and bought a pony. Of course there were three kids and that was all we got collectively besides the saddle, but dammit it was cool. We couldn't afford the upkeep though so we sold her to a trusted friend.

Well, I always wanted a console for Christmas.

I think it was a PS2 I really wanted.

......But, alas, I am stuck with a pc. Not that that's a bad thing- it's just that I wanted a ps2 every Christmas since it came out but never got one.

I always wanted the green power ranger's sword flute thing. I must have asked for it two hundred times and I never got it. I got a lot of other things, but I never got that flute that would call that green dragon thing.

Hmm... I think it would be a cat. My parents kept saying they would get me one every year, but they never did.

I remember that! *Daaaa-da-daaaaa-ditty-daaaa* (the sound that it makes)

Awesome in every way, as it combined my abiding love for musical instruments with my liking of edged weapons.

I don't ever remember actually wanting it for Christmas, though.....Well, maybe I did when I was younger- I don't remember.

A sniper rifle, preferably a Barret M98B.

A retractable knife you can hide up your sleeve, like in Assassin's Creed.

A hidden microphone.

Suction climbing cups.

And a damn bulletproof vest.

Don't ask, don't tell.

Honestly, I've never wanted much, so there wasn't much to be disappointed about. There were a few times when I didn't get the particular CD or video game I wanted, but I was too busy being excited about what I did get to care all that much.

You totally should.

Um... one of those fancy limited-edition whatchamacallits from LOTR. You could get this awesome little clasp thing for like $50 US for cloaks.
I don't wear cloaks on a daily basis, but it'd still be useful to have one of those pimping clasps to use with my Halloween costumes.

I remember one year I really wanted a Sega Nomad. I didn't get it (possibly due to never telling my parents I wanted it) and I was really sad.

I really thought Santa would have known but I guessed wrong. Those were the days.

I've had an unusually large amount of people asking me what I want for both Christmas and my birthday a lot lately (frame of reference: my birthday is December the 19th). I don't actually want anything right now, so just to be a smartass my going answer to the question has been "world peace, a large pile of money and Anne Hathaway wrapped in a decorative bow".

...

*writes down Anne Hathaway on his wish list*
