the only time i think i was ever disappointed was when i asked for COD4, thinking that my mom would somehow know that i wanted it for PC, and i got it for the DS. Alas, i learned my lesson, and now specify for which system i want which game, and i suggest you do the same. But then again, i find it hard to complain especially that year since we my parents had bought their first house and my dad had/has exhausted much of the money he meant for retirement to do so.

I've had an unusually large amount of people asking me what I want for both Christmas and my birthday a lot lately (frame of reference: my birthday is December the 19th). I don't actually want anything right now, so just to be a smartass my going answer to the question has been "world peace, a large pile of money and Anne Hathaway wrapped in a decorative bow".

I get that too (Birthday is December 10th)

I just ask people to get me one thing. I feel terrible about people getting me two things :p

When I was younger I would always specifically state the console/PC, never had an issue

The issue that I have with Christmas is that I hate the whole asking and you shall receive crap. If I truly want something I save and buy it for myself rather than rely upon charity.

I like surprises, I like looking and not knowing what's there. Heck, I hate the present side of Christmas in it's totality really, I enjoy the family eating and getting pissed together but I always find the presents part too formal. When I went home last year to my Dad's he had the exact order of which presents were going to be opened first, he had even told me what to buy my older brother because my Dad had bought him a 360 and didn't want me to spoil the surprise. I bought him the gift my Dad wanted me to buy for him, then bought him his *actual* Christmas present.

No shit? That's my birthday too! And I was born in '92, so the 19th that year was the first night of Hanukkah (I'm Jewish). Pretty cool, it still happens from time to time.

A few Christmases ago I wanted a Wii, but my step mom convinced my dad I didn't need one so I had to go buy it myself.

Maybe this year I'll get that goddamned Christmas sex and find out what all the hubbub is about.
You'll have to tell me what it's like if you get it.

I don't have ever really want anything for Christmas, so I don't ever feel disappointed.

Well what I want to know is. . .

What the hell ever happened to Thanksgiving?!

I mean seriously, it's in a couple days yet two weeks ago I was already starting to see Christmas lights and Christmas commercials. Yes, I know Thanksgiving isn't as popular as Christmas, but I mean come on! At least wait till one holiday is over before you prepare for the next.

Actually I'm just excited for an off day to sleep in on.

As a non-christian, non-religious person, I don't "do" christmas. Don't get gifts, don't give them. Works damn well for me. Now if I could just find a way to stop the assault of those goddamned christmas carols the shopping centres play ad nauseum for 2 freaking months.

BAH HUMBUG!
