Maybe a poll should be on this topic, but it'd end up being extremely lop-sided.

I too cannot really help myself. It even occurs to me like "I should really go do my homework right now...eh...shit isn't due until noon tomorrow, I can do it between my break at 11 to 12..."

And I do stuff like that and it works 90% of the time...

But it never quite feels right.

Well I got up at 9 o clock this morning to do some work on my uni dissertation but I didnt get started till 3, then I had a break 5-till now. things I did: went to the shops, twice. watched about 20 episodes of RedvsBlue, posted on the escapist forums and miscellianious (sp?) filler activities... damn I suck
You don't suck, if you suck then i'm afraid to think about what I am! I probably wouldn't have even got up, at this very moment I am putting off doing an english essay and modern studies essay that were due in 2 weeks ago...Hell yeah!!!!

I've got a five page paper due and an exam tomorrow, another exam the day after, and a quiz the day after that. I have not started anything. FML.

Definitely. I do a lot on the forums, actually. I actually have Statistics coursework due in tomorrow and I've only done half, because it's my flatmate's 19th birthday and we're having a huge party tonight to celebrate :D However, that's nothing to one of my friends. At GCSE it took him a full year to hand in his coursework, and he was blaming the teacher for the lateness all along because the teacher kept telling him to do it...

I was going to do a poll but people seem to have issues with polls with only two options and im sick of being told off for things on here by the 'niggle-pickers'... thusly, im playing it safe :p

I've got an essay of 1500-2000 words due tomorrow. Haven't started it, haven't been to any lectures at all for this subject (haven't been to any for any subject since mid-November, tbh) and I've only just started reading an article for it.

...it'll get done. Possibly. Having not bothered to hand in about half of my coursework assignments so far, I've already resigned myself to the fact that I'll be resitting the year so I'm tempted to just not bother with anything and spend my time playing Guitar Hero instead.

Depends. If an assignment is 1) not worth a lot in terms of marks or 2) four pages of writing or less, then my mind basically goes into "fuck it" mode, and I usually end up writing it the day before it is due.

However, assignments that actually matter, or are to large for me to be able to physically type in one go tend to get more attention.

My skills at procrastinating are soooooo LEET that I got an A+ on a 15 page, RESEARCH paper that I did the day it was due! (So I had about 6 hours to do it, had to have at least 10 references..)

Yah... I did that!

By the time I got home that day though.. all I did was fall on my floor and sleep for the rest of the day and night! XP

I am a professional crastinator!

...yes, I do this sometimes. I have a paper coming up thats so far away that I cant even remember when its due and i havent really done anything yet (though in my defense my topic is a ***** to research for). I also have a new program for my computer that I got at least three weeks ago and still havent installed, and I have put off getting my drivers license (btw I am sixteen) for something like two months now. oh, and i have an idea for a webcomic. I got it in november. havent drawn anything yet. thats what the uninstalled program i previously mentioned is for, its photoshop. I dont know how to use it. I could get a non shitty scanner, but I dont have enough money or a car to go the store for it. my dad knows the scanner (which is also a printer) is shit, but he also keeps forgetting to do stuff. yeah, this is a real problem for me.

I could say more, but I wont bother.

I never procrastinated in school, but I find that now that I don't have deadlines and can set my own timetable for projects, I keep putting them off.

I procrastinate because I go by the rule "let the future me worry about that". I used to write all of my homework during brakes or during actual classes. Or, if it's an unimportant piece of homework, I used to just go up to the teacher and tell him/her that I accidentally forgot my paper at home. I had the reputation of a goody goody student so the teachers actually believed me. Though the situation is very different in college...

Were you thinking about this WHILE procrastinating?
Yeah, I've developed the habit of procrastinating, too. Mostly because I developed the skill to bullshit the hell out of any writing I do. It's incredibly easy for me to turn one sentence into four or five. I also possess the uncanny ability to obfuscate as I gesticulate, ensuring the ignominious demise of the nebulous void of unfilled space on my paper.

I am at the moment.
I have drama logs to hand in tomorrow, but the interwebs are more fun.
Thing is, we do the same thing every day in drama so it's hard to write about it.

You crazy wordsmith. I was indeed procrastinating when i started this and it is providing a good excuse for breaks to come back and see whats going on with it. I'm usually able to just rattle off words like some sort of intelligent, yet erotic, writing machine but this time round i hate the assignment i am doing. I can see myself looking back on this moment at 7 o'clock in the morning wishing i had spent this time just writing the damn thing.

I have a midterm in exactly one hour, and I think I'll wait another five minutes before I start studying. I am completely serious.
