"It is time to put away the silly vanities and turn to God like you mean it. The destruction of this nation is imminent - so start calling on Batman and Superman now, see if they can pull you from the mess that you have created with all your silly idolatry."

Save us Batman! Save us from the Troll Cult!

Ugh, more Christians making the rest of us look bad
The problem is they are playing "by the rules" they always refer back to the bible and using it as justification. "Technically" it is THEY who are the "good" Christians in that they are staying closer to their scripture.

IMHO the fundamental problem with Christianity IS the Bible. It is a LONG ass book written millennia ago and to spite some REALLY good passages (you know, care for thine neighbour and the concept of forgiveness) a significant proportion of it is hateful and anti-social bullshit that has no place in the modern world.

See a "good" Christian (good in the sense of positive contribution to society) does have to filter out a hell of a lot. For example, you'd have to take a lot of liberties with the actual text to make the story of Lot seem anything other than the most fucked up thing ever written. I mean if a kid today wrote the story of Lot and their teacher found it they would freak the fuck out and make him take councilling.

Well, I don't see any of these fans basing their way of life and morals on Superman.
And even if they did, Superman has a better moral sense than these idiots.

It's people like this that made me switch from Chrisitanity to Spiritualism.

Praying to batman does exactly the same amount of good as praying to your god. I hate these people so very much.
I'm a practising Christian, I still got to say *Zing!*

I agree. Too many people see praying to god as the solution to all our problems, but as the proverb goes "God helps those who helps themselves". So instead of protesting in front on a Con, where most people are going to consider them as an extra (distasteful) attraction, they could do something more productive like, I don't know, helping people in need?

I suggest we set up adhoc batman/superman churches before they arrive, and bar them entrance because they are not true believers.

On a side note i would happily burn in hell for eternity than worship the god they seem to believe in. Eternal suffering is nothing compared to living your whole life as a massive ass hole.

What needs to be done.

Person A walks up the protest group, asks them to flip a coin.
They flip coin.

Batman runs in from nowhere and punches the guy flipping the coin.
Also this should be videoed

See last two panels of comic below for example.

So the idiots who worship a fictional character think that some other people are idiots for reading comics? Methinks that mayhaps they didn't really think that one through. Then again, I guess there aren't as many 9/11 funerals to protest at these days. Though it would be hee-haw-larious if their protesting did cause said superheroes to turn up and show that they are real, then rape them all in the bum. Maybe Godzilla will be there...

The following is my thought process upon seeing this title.

"What? That's retarded; what kind of dumbasses would-[click]Oh. Yeah, that sounds about right. Let's see, offensive signs; hackneyed logic, threats of hellfire. Check, check, and check. Okay, I think I'm done here."

I think I'm surprised they arn't getting shot with signs saying "Thank Gpd for 9/11" and "Thank God for IEDs"

Thwy are trying to protest comi books, but taking a massive wing at the army. One thing I always knew by common sense: Dont piss ff the man with the gun.

I must say though, The "God i Angry everyday proves an interesting point;
The religious say that God is infalliable and perfect. However, God has been know to smite through vengence and now he is angry everyday, as well as America's terrorist? So that mean he's commiting wrath right? Doens't that mean he's commiting a deadly sin and therefor no longer perfect?
Well, at least they have don't have to deal with the problem of evil.

And you know what's more? Being a true christian and adhering to all the rules and guidelines in the bible isn't even possible, since it conradicts itself.

All Westboro does is take the Bible seriously. Cracks me up when the watered-down, cherry-picked Christians (who have accepted at least part of their mythology as mythology) get all uncomfortable with them. Good stuff.
True. This is why the bible should never be taken seriously. It's a poor source of moral guidance.

These people get far more attention than they deserve. A sad trait of modern society, that it feels the need to waste media attention on these misguided zealots.

Heh, now I want to go to the ComicCon there just to see what cars they come in a slit their tires.

Really, if I was in town and knew which car they all came in I wouldn't hesitate to poke a few holes in their tires.

Or get a loud noise maker of some sort and blow it every time they try to speak. Nothing in the world is funner than being an asshole.
