Cool... We needed another sea fearing nation,.. now when am I going to see Australia... I want to conquer the world in the name of Booze and Laziness.
Not really a lot of great Australian Military Leaders, are there?

Apart from maybe Crocodile Dundee...

(No, Ned Kelly doesn't count)

Apart from his last words, which were seriously bad ass, I really don't get the Ned Kelly obsession, if you actually read up on him he was a bit of a nutjob. Australian's as a whole don't really do objective history do we? We either demonise and blatantly make up shit to demonise people in our history or idolise people regardless of what they were actually trying to do (read up on what the leaders of the Eureka Stockade had planned if they had won their rebellion)

And there have been some very good military leaders in Australia, and Bob Menzies comes to mind as a possible choice for the leader of an Australian faction.

That Power seems to make them...overpowered.

Meanwhile, in Turkey, Suleiman is perplexed that the most successful Western Asian empire in history gets the shittiest power in the game. 50% chance of converting Barbarian Galleys? YIPEE!

Just Sir John Monash the guy who worked out how to win WWI.

Will there be a surfer/black short unit that is what I want to know.

Have they added hotseat multiplayer yet?
Yeah what the fuck is up with that? I really like Civ V, I do, despite being a Civ II addict. It isn't as deep as some of the previous games but going to war is a lot more interesting and fun with hexes and single units. It is killing me that there is no hotseat multi, that is more than half the fun of Civ. Your turn, I'll make a cup of tea...

Pig Iron Bob? Fuck that. What would his faction power be, selling strategic resources to aggressor nations like he did in real life? Or maybe writing really crap poetry about the Queen...

John Curtin or The Gough would be my choice.

Personally politics aside (I really don't like what I read about Menzies) and a few cock ups about selling Iron to the Japanese (and using troops to force the matter) he was still a decent leader.

I wonder if it's a good thing or a bad thing that we haven't had our Washington or Churchill yet? Good thing I'm leaning towards, because those sort of people only show up when the shit has really hit the fan.

I could list several more, but my fave is Leslie Morsehead, aka Ming the Merciless.
Well, Monash and Morshead are the ones that fight over the number one spot, nobody else seems to have a shot in.

Morshead would possibly be more famous internationally, in that, IIRC, until Tobruk, Rommel hadn't been stopped by anyone.

Damn those pecks are sexy.

Oh, and the map pack is cool to. Doubt I'll be getting it, but it looks interesting.

So, Polynesian is fine. Nuclear Gandhi is fine; but no Hitler, Mussolini, Victoria, Pol Pot, Boudica, Stalin, Gadaffi, Saddam, Shaka Zulu...

We just want all those NICE dictators...like Montezuma...
they should give options to change dictators for empires which have several different interesting historical leaders.

How about fixing the shit code that causes the my late games to crash on a map size thats bigger than my street. That would be a step in the right direction.

They should pile up all this DLC into a big collection. And release a proper expansion.

I've bought all four prior Civ games, along with Colonization and Alpha Centauri, but the nickel-and-diming of DLC gives me even more reason to wait until there's a Gold Editon of 5 with all of the DLC, and at a lower overall price.

I know it's the smallest continent. Still, you'd think it'd be pretty hard to miss, wouldn't you...

Free Multiplayer Maps? I would rather have the promised February Multiplayer Patch to fix the game I already paid for. Civ V's MP is beyond borked.

No MP modding support.
No DLC Nations in MP. (Allegedly to be patched soon, not holding breath)
No Animations.
No Hotseat.
No Direct IP Connect.
Resource Roulette.
Forced Auto save and reload every turn with no ability to disable it or to manually save.
Ridiculously long load times between late game turns.
Sync and stability issues up the wazoo.

Its really a shame Sid sold out on Civ5 ... I guess I'll be playing Civ4 until I die... Which isn't a bad thing.
