I am ridiculed a lot in my high school for playing video games (nope) for being smart (nope) but actually for liking classic rock...i honestly don't get this. There was a thing we had to do for band (which practicly everyones in) where we write a report about our favorite band. So I wrote about the doors (all time favorite band) and got made fun of for it. so state your favorite classic rock bands and any other stuff youd like to. People just seem to find it weird that im 14 and like bands from the 60s/70s
im 16 and i have ALL KINDS of crazy songs on my ipod... from classic rock, to jazz, to classical stuff... you can find any genre on my ipod except rap... and heavy screamo metal..

EDIT:

just realised i didnt answer question... lol probably i like poison the most... or CCR

Pretty much all classic rock rocks, ever heard of the Highwaymen. Sure its country but its classic country that kicks the piss out of some of today's music.

Doobie Brothers, BTO (Bachman-Turner Overdrive), Fog hat, the eagles (yes they are rock), Steve Miller band, some rolling stones, and the best of all time CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival).

corse i was born in 71 so its not actualy 'classic' rock for me is it?

Seeing as how I grew up in Boston, I love J. Geils Band, The Cars, Boston, Aerosmith, and a certain Standells song that's been played to death at sporting events. I also love AC/DC's stuff from when Bon Scott was still alive.

I don't know that it really counts as "classic rock" but I love late-80s hard rock, stuff like Guns 'N' Roses and Metallica/Megadeth when those two bands were still in their respective primes.

The Doors are one of the greatest bands in the world and are even better live! What kind of stupid world do we live in when people get ridiculed for having greater taste in music?

The Doors are severely overrated. The Who is aweseome though. Especially "Tommy".
Don't say The Doors are severely overrated, that is just your opinion!
Uhhhh....duh. Ofcourse it's my opinion. I think The Doors are overrated.
We don't to hear stupid opinions, especially when they are not overrated. What the hell makes you think they are overrated?

Doors are great, but I like BÖC and AC/DC better.
Other good bands are Kinks, CCR, Chuck Berry , Lynyrd Skynyrd (Free Bird is one of my favorite songs of all time), Jimi Hendrix and Grateful Dead.

Anyway, well, that's the times we live in, unfortunately.
Rap and Hip-Hop have long taken over for some arbitrary reason. Can't be because of the music.

I am in EXACTLY the same situation, 'cept I'm 15 now. It sucks, doesn't it?
Gawd. A list?

I don't know.

Aerosmith, ACDC, The Beatles, Foreigner, Boston, Queen, Cream, Sabbath and Ozzy in general, Zakk Wylde (both with Ozzy and as a standalone), CCR, Alice Cooper, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Pink Floyd, The Who, Poison, Foghat, Hendrix, J. Giels, the Eagles, ELO, Lynyrd Skynyrd (Free Bird is just orgasmically good), GNR, Led Zeppelin...

And Folk rock is cool too. I don't see what some people have against it. Really.

In fact, anything but rap and hip-hop finds its way onto my iPod. Seriously. I have Japanese, Serbian, Hungarian, Russian/Polish, Indian, Arabian and Chinese music on there too, so I mean it. I judge by song, and if they are consistant, by artist, but I have only ever found one good rap song and that's because of the subject matter. Can't for the life of me remember what it was though. Sucks to that.

If you don't want to hear my opinion, don't respond. The Doors made tepid and boring music with no real artistic flair. Add that Jim was pretentious as well, thinking we was awesome when he obviously was only mediocre. He made about 3 good songs, at best. I'd rather listen to The Who, who actually had artistry in their music and didn't have a douche frontman.

Plenty of greats from the 60's/70's, I saw the film The Boat That Rocked last weekend and even though the film itself rocked (yes, pun intended even though it's crap), and I just love any film done by Richard Curtis, the best part was the soundtrack. The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who, other bands starting with the word 'The', and so on (I'm too lazy to list any more) are some of the greats that shaped music today. But the best band in the world EVER, came in the Seventies. That's right, I'm talking the official best ever singer and the group that can't be beaten, Queen. Freddie was just amazing... The Doors aren't really overrated but Jim Morrison is. I don't think not many people would know who Jim Manzarek or Robby Krieger is. I like the Doors and Pink Floyd.
Well is obvious that Jim Morrison steals the spotlight out of the other band members cause it was Jim that made the band.

Still Manzarek is one of the worlds greatest keyboardists.(?) But I prefer Jon Lord from Deep Purlple.

Queen started up in 1971. :p

And the first album "Queen" was released in 1973.

Tne main ones that I often listen to are AC/DC, Queen, Black Sabbath, The Who and Aerosmith.

Also I don't know if this counts as Classic rock, but I still listen to a lot of GNR.

You already showed us with your first reply and it's still bad. The Doors didn't make boring music, they did something different and clever inventing amazing riffs and instrumentals with a passion. They all went crazy on stage like no other, unfortunatly no one can do it like they did anymore, something really special like Jimi Hendrix, well not exactly.

Now when you say 'Jim', do you mean The Doors only had 3 good songs at best? They had a big list of great songs, greater than alot of legendary bands back then.
