It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

EDIT: either that one quite early on about the circus midget was written wrong, or it's impossible. I researched it and a different riddle involving a BLIND circus midget was about, but not the one posted. It's actually driving me mad >. >
A midget has a job st the circus, which he loves very much. For his 15th anniversary of preforming there, his circus friends throw him a party. Getting quite drunk at the party, he goes home to his trailer. The next day, he wakes up and makes breakfast. Halfway trough making it, he looks at the table in the middle of his trailer, drops the pan in shock, and shoots himself. Why did he kill himself? All the information needed is given.
I heard this ages ago. forgive me if I don't get it quite right
A man dessed all in black stumbles drunk out of a pub. he stops and sits in the middle of a narrow road. suddenly a speeding car without its headlights on turns onto the road and heads straight for the drunken man. there are no streetlights and no moon in the sky yet the car manages to see the drunken man and stop before hitting him. how is this possible?
I was interested to see some of the riddles you guys have picked up along your travels. They can be the trick questions, or just word games. Mine is:
L . . . N . ... S . . . U . . . N . . . A ... P

A man lives in a hotel, and everyday he gets the lift from the top floor (20th) to the bottom, and goes to work. However on the way back up after work he only goes to the 8th floor, and walks the rest of the way.
You are in a room, n which all the walls facing south. Out one of the windows you see a bear, what colour is it?
A man jumps off a building in an attempt to commit suicide. When he lands an ambulance takes him to a hospital where he is eventually released and not sent to prison. If he had jumped on any other day, however, he would have been arrested after recovering. Why?
An eccentric queen places a diamond inside a metal box and tells her kingdom that whomever can remove the diamond from inside the box, without using any tools, can keep that diamond and half the royal treasures. Many tried but none succeeded. One day a young girl comes to the queen and asks to try, but she demanded to try for as long as she wanted. Granted this wish, she went every day to try and after a very long time managed to extract the diamond and the queen gives her all she promised. How did the young girl manage this?

Eh no idea on the first one, but does the second one have to do with her bringing mouthfuls of water in to float it out?
I don't even know if diamonds float or not...

shaking the box. the diamond is harder than the metal and will slowly scratch away the metal. depending on the metal you could also try spitting/peeing on it in the hopes it will corrode.
