I got it? Awesome! What was the original answer?

OT: The person who invented it doesn't want it, the person who bought it doesn't need it, The person who needs it doesn't know it!

What is it?
The answer for mine is a snail.

Oh, man. I feel like I know it. I know I've heard it but I don't know if I can think of the answer.
FACK.
This is going to bother me all week, now.

Take your time, my dad told it to me as a child and I had to be told the answer!

I should get more people to come figure it out!
Uuuuugh. It's like that "Nothing." one. I was rubbish at that one too. UGH. This is going to bug me until I have to google it. Then I can't figure it out, though. :[ Sigh.

Do it! Riddles are a lot of fun. I don't know how this thing ever died. >:|

OY! No googling it!

I will try to get people to participate more!

Keep thinking!
I wouldn't post it if I did, obviously! The very nerve of such an implication! You wound me, sir, wound me!
I'm thinking. But I think I may have blown a gasket. ACH.

Heh, it's tough, that is why I chose it!
You're a terrible person and should feel bad for choosing such a hard riddle. >:|
Maybe I'm just not good at this sort.
I've heard a couple like it and could never figure it out. Maybe I'm bad at extrapolating. :|

Well, if you get this one, tell us your ones!

Give a guess!
No, I hate those. Haha.

Ugh. Balls.
Uh, I really have no idea.
It has to be something no one wants. And not anything metaphysical, it seems like. Or else it couldn't be invented.
A gravestone? It has to have something to do with death, I guess. Although don't people usually buy gravestones ahead of time? I have no idea.
So grave/headstone is my answer.

(This me literally thinking as I typed. Editing is for other people.)

Very close! I'll let you have the round, the answer was coffin!

Your turn!
hey! I was close! Yeah, I remember now. >:| Gr.
Good choice of riddles, though!

Uh...
Hm.
I never got this one the first time I heard it. It's pretty pretentious, though.

What does man love more than life?
Fear more than death or mortal strife?
What do the poor have, what the rich require,
And what contented men desire?
What does the miser spend, the spendthrift save,
And all men carry to their graves?

Crap, I bet it is something obvious...

Is it curiosity?
Nope! Not even close this time. The metaphysical part is right, though.
Think. There's a couple of lines that the riddle kind of hinges on. Look at the fourth and sixth lines, specifically.

Since we appear to be the only ones playing, I think relaxing the "one guess" rule would be prudent. :|

Hmm, I'm gonna say...TIME! I know I want more of it!

Could it also be faith?

Or hope!

It has to be one of those!
It is none of those. :D

People love time more than life?

Fear faith or hope more than death?

Good guesses, but you're on the wrong track.
Think of the definition of "contented."

(Those were all my guesses, too, when I heard this one. So. Haha.)

Hmm, let me think...

You do not want to have me,
But when you have me,
You do not want to lose me.
What am I?

Looked it up and seems fun, what is it?
A lawsuit. One of my favorite riddles. :D
