I do feel that this video has a very severe lack of the word "dicktits," though. That critical omission puts it well behind the first one, in my opinion.
I must say I am glad its not there because "dicktits" will get real old real fast, and I don't want it to get old before the game even comes out.

Meh, seems to me the novelty of the kill'd wear off around the third time you did it and from then on it's just an annoying animation that used to be amusing. Maybe that's just me, not being 12 and all.

You know, people keep mentioning dick-tits, and someone is going to post a picture of the ever absolutly horrible gag inducing picture of

Shitting Dick Nipples.
As I've said in previous Bulletstorm topics that keeps reminding me of the image.

I've had worse after a reheated curry the day after...

Speaking of memorable images, does this mean Bulletstorm will feature goat.seeking missiles?

(If you dont get it, don't google it, kids)

"I made a game where you can blow out a man's asshole."

Actually, no Cliffy, no you didn't. You know that team of 300 people working 110 hour weeks sitting over there? THEY made the fucking game, while you continue to sit in your fancy office while retaining the title of "world's oldest 12 year old."
300? Not only is Epic meant to be a very small studio for the number of projects it works on [and you have to bear in mind this is being made People can Fly, again not a massive company] but 300 team members is insane, I think in a recent video ArenaNet stated their entire team [as in everyone in the whole studio, not just the development team] comes to around 250 people, so stating 300 would work on a AA title like Bulletstorm is ridiculous.

Secondarily, yes games journalism has this issue with attributing games to specific people, but that's because ultimately designers play a gigantic role in the overall style of the game; as lead creative / design director, or whatever his title actually is, he probably is ultimately the guy responsible for making the decision to include these elements in the game. Furthermore, it makes the game easy to market, and strengthens the IP / studio ties if they advertise it in this way [see David Cage's speech about making himself a brand].

Maybe you should stop being so pissed off and realize that the video is a joke, uses "Cliffy B" because he's the face of Epic games, and think more rationally. Furthermore, I find it hard to beleive you'd imply he doesn't do anything on the games especially when Epic's franchises are praised for their design [and graphics] moreso than any other area.

You need to understand two things
1) I hate Cliffy B.
2) I'm prone to hyperbole.

That should about clear it up.

This is the crap that makes gamers look bad. And adds fuel to the "games are dangerous crowd." In short, I am sad.

Or it's the gaming industry giving a flaming mooning to the morally righteous who would have it censored to suit their agendas.

I don't buy that. We are always talking about how game is an art and how we want to be taken seriously by the rest of the world. But even if this is just a "flaming mooning" that is hardly the way to go about saying we are mature and worthy of being taken seriously. And you know what? If this were something controversial with any meaning or value or artistic merit, I would defend it, even if I disagreed with it. But this just says... this guy who makes games is a sad sad man-child who thinks shooting someone in the asshole is funny. And he represents us to all the people who have never played a game, mature or otherwise. So, no, I don't buy that at all.

Also, for the record, "morally righteous" is a pretty meaningless term here used simply to malign anyone who objects to this without developing a coherent argument for why this deserves to exist.

I was in the moment dicktits was mentioned. Finally FPSs can start being about having fun, rather than everyone having a "who can make the most serious shade of gray competition"

And to the "games are art and art doesn't involve shooting a guy in the ass!" arguement i say not all games have to strive to be the Gaming equivalent of the Mona Lisa.

I'd love that title....

Anyway he may not have "made" it. But he is a design director. He designed it.

OT: I'm going to assume this is an xBox only game? Which sucks cause I'd love to play this on my PS3.
This is basically true. A movie generally isn't made by a director and a handful of actors and actresses. There are often hundreds of people involved in the production of the average studio film. But in the end, the only time most of those people are recognized is when the credits roll. It isn't any different when it comes to games. Yes, there are other people involved and their contribution will be unknown to the vast majority of the world. Turns out it is just far to difficult for the average person to remember the dozens or hundreds of people who worked on a game. It's a stretch to even assume people know who the designer was.

It deserves to exist because someone wished to make it, and they have the right to make it. What other purpose does it need to have.

I do not accept that, but we still have to acknowledge what this looks like to the outside. We can't keep talking about how gaming is a misunderstood mature artistic medium that deserves respect and not understand that outsiders see this game as a sample of games as a whole. They will not see this as some outlier created by some sort of fringe figure. It is hard to argue that games should be treated seriously when people keep creating games that back up the argument that they are juvenile and filled with empty violence. Plus, like it or not, shooting someone in the asshole is sexual violence. That really does not help our argument.

I understand your point of view, but I think it's very short-sighted to think that we need to make every single game a mature one. Deep, thought-provoking games certainly have their place, but stupid, immature, balls-to-the-wall action games have their place as well.

Hollywood certainly isn't filled with mature movies (see: Scary Movie, Jackass, etc), but people don't judge the entire movie industry based upon those films.
