Well, I can think of two things.
First, rewind 17 years. Little Longshot, 4 years are gpoing to the wood to play in the snow, with the other kids in the neighbourhood. Anyway, mum says: "Do not corss the lake, it's not frozen solid enough. Walk to the bridge"
Little Longshot is a kid, so info goes in, info goes out. Come the forrest, it's really too far to that bridge. At least 50 metres... So a kid that's 7 goes on the lake first, and makes it across. I go second... And the ice breaks. Can't swim of course, and I have a ridicolously large wintersuitthingie on, that instantly sucks all the water it can hold. I am sinking. 7 year old boy, thros me the cord to the plasticsled we've brought. You know, sincea plasticsled jut standing on it's own on snow, will definitely make sure I dn't sink, while he runs for help.
I was very afraid. Very cold. Very slowly sinking, as the suit got wetter, andair escaped from it. I will never forget that.
Luckily, before last of me sunk, I was helped up.
econd instance, I was riding my bike home. Think I'm like, 10 or something. Halfway there, the cycle skids out under me, due to large amounts of sand on the road. I land on my feet, though, while the bike falls onto it's side between my legs. I have nobalance, though, and still a little momentu, so I fall over, forwards. And one of the handles are pointing directly upwards, toward me. Sometimes, it feels like things happen in slowmotion. Maybe it's just that you remember eerthing very vividly afterwards, but the way I remember it, it was like faling in slowmotion, but being powerless to stop what is happeneing. Ifel forwards. Didn't take a bit off the fall with my hands. I fall from upright, onto the handle, in the right side of my stomach. Full weight and momentum. I just rolled over next to the bik, and stayed there, dunno how long, as I was unable to move at all. Pain was too great, and all air had been punched out. It hurt breathing. Eventually, some ranom lady drove past me in her car, and picked me up.She drove me home, I called my mum, and she ook me to the doctors. Turns out, had I fell so the handlebar had hit me two centrimeters beneath, it would have cased my spleen to rupture. Considering how long it was till I got meical attention, I would have been dead
Interessting to tell these things, actually.
