I don't hate it, though I do find its popularity somewhat perplexing. Probably most of the hate though is because not only is the show popular, but its fans won't shut the fuck up about it. If you want to enjoy MLP, that's fine, that's your deal. That said, it's a guilty pleasure, but people try to make out as if it weren't. To see this many people, most of whom ought to know better, devoting so much time trying to defend the fact that they're watching a show for little girls is ridiculous. And when you add on top of that the fact that it's become such a meme, its pervasiveness within pop culture at this point is really annoying. I don't hate the show, I don't care about it enough to feel ill feelings towards it. I can also avoid the show.

I'm not a fan... I just have a rabid fan friend that wants my head if I didn't make this thread, its very god damn annoying. But I can guess that last half is 100% true though, I PROBABLY will, haven't been hit yet, so lets hope it doesn't happen.

I don't hate it, I'm just conflicted over watching a show directed primarily for young girls. What episode should I watch first? Is it really that well written that it can be enjoyed by 17 year old males?

I watched it as a child and nostalgia kills it? That a good enough reason for ya? I just don't see the enjoyment in it anymore and yes I have tried to watch it.

You know, you're being detrimental to pretty much the entire fanbase of the show by posting something like this. By putting up yet ANOTHER thread like this, all you're doing is inviting more hate for it because they're seeing it somewhere else. Instead, people are fine if you keep to yourself and discuss it with other fans. Or heck, at least limit it to pictures and the occasional reference.

I have no issues with the show whatsoever, but there are fans who need to understand that overexposing people to something, or repeatedly asking "WHY U HATE IT!?" is just going to make people hate it more.

Ok, WHY do you hate it, give me a good reason.
Now, I'm going to start, no, I'm not a fan, but it seems like people are starting to go crazy with the hate of this show, for whatever reason. Hell, one of my friends sprayed a spray of it on a server and got banned. Its really starting to become fairly weird, the show is OK, but the over exastic hate to it is just weird. Really weird.

Now, time to activate flame AND spoiler for my next sentence, so I don't have some crazy fan cut me in half. Don't look if you loved a anime from the 90s involving balls.

Its the young girl equilvent of Dragon Ball Z, we will refer to DBZ as Show B.

Now, MLP is the young girl equilvent as Show B. Why? Well, in a goddamn nutshell, their the same, just one towards young boys, one towards young girls. The nutshell, GOAL OVER THERE, POWER UP, COMPLETE GOAL, GOOF AROUND THROUGHOUT! I just don't get the sudden hate for this show. There are worse shows, with worse quality, worse acting and more stale stories, its just, why? Were letting Johnny Test past from hate, but were focusing on a kids show that is hated for only OK reasons, and half the time, reasons aren't very good.

DBZ is absolutely valueless tripe.

MLP is a decent show that's being presented as the next messiah by it's fanbase.

Why? I watched an episode, and it basically had the same feel and comedy style as the 90s cartoons I grew up with. There is pretty much nothing new with that humor style, so people are starved for it, hence a decent show is being heralded as the messiah.

For a man wandering through the desert for years, a drop of water seems like a feast.

Now, according to a lot of skulking, I found out why people hate My Little Ponies, now any fan that wants everyone to stop, its not going to happen, so please stop doing the bottom 3, the third is the hardest. Basically, I was able to gather 3, 3 solid reasons, from skulking, on why people do NOT like the show, so you can stop.

Reasons:
-Fans are obnoxious.
-People are weirded out by it.
-MEME!
-Perplexing, 14 - 17 year old watchers.

Didn't you just make a post in the "Worst Cartoons..." topic a little earlier? The one comparing Dragon Ball Z to My Little Pony. That was an inspired post, well done.

OT: I don't hate MLP, hell I get a real kick out of some of the fan made material. Some of the other stuff is like something out of Lovecraft's wet dreams and horrifies me so. The show itself is okay, nothing really bad about it if you ask me.
