Co-op game recommendations

Hey. Since summer is fast approaching and its the only time me and my best friend can really get together and just game to our hearts content, I was wondering if the community had any recommendations for really good co-op games. Preferably FPS's but I'm taking suggestions from all genres. For the Xbox 360 too by the way...

I'm thinking about Lost Planet 2 or a Gears of War currently...

Splinter Cell: Conviction in coop is a ton of fun. If you like that sort of games.
But I'm not entirely sure there is split screen in it.

Its an old one but the Left 4 Dead games are nice co-op/splitscreen games.

Lost Planet 2 for sure.
If you've got a friend who's willing to get a game too, then Tenchu Z is quite fun; and kinda co-op.

Borderlands and both Left 4 Dead's are alright to play with a friend. I would suggest Gears, but you already mentioned that.

I coop with my brother, and he goes to college so I can't experiment with titles. So I use Cooptimus to make sure im getting a worthwhile game.

Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon has some good co-op and is fun as hell with all the cheats on.

Gears, Left 4 Dead, Army of Two, Halo...

Left 4 Dead 2 would be my top recommendation, but the first one would do.
Borderlands is meant to be good, but I haven't played it myself, so wouldn't know.

Get the Crackdown 2 demo and if you like it get the game. I've been having a blast with it.

Crackdown 2 comes out next week. It's not first person, but it is a shooter. And it is awesome co-op.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

Probably the most fun I've ever had just goofing around in a game. Who cares if it took us almost two hours to do the first mission! We had fun dammit.

Hmmm, local games...

The Left 4 Dead duo and the Halo Trilogy are the best ones I can come up with.

I'd say the Gears of War series and the L4D series are definitely worth a look. Also, if you're thinking of renting a few games out it's worth remembering that Modern Warfare 2 (despite the bad press it's online multiplayer gets) has a Spec-Ops gamemode for co-op play which is actually really good fun.

I know it's an old game, but the co-op in Perfect Dark, was amazing! I love that game!

borderlands and gears of war 1 and 2 for sure! those are some of the best game ever

The Gears of War series are a must, [USER]Fellwarden[/USER] and I played through the first on Casual, then Hardcore, then came Gears 2, we played through that on Casual and Hardcore too.
This summer, we're gonna play through them both on Insane.
It's very recommended, it's great fun.

The L4D series and GOW are must haves, I would also recommend 'Earth Defence Force 2017' Just put it on the hardest difficulty setting and it will keep you entertained all night!
