Good evening fellow Escapists, i need your help.
Obviously as the title says, Co-op RPG's, i am inquiring as to whether you know of many for the following consoles:
PC, Playstation 2 and Xbox 360.
Basically I love to play video games but i often find my girlfriend sitting there watching as:
1. She doesn't like TV
2. She doesn't like to read
3. She doesn't do work when i'm around
and 4. She worships the ground i walk on (Slight exaggeration)

Regardless she used to play a game called Summoner, which i am aware is 2 player but she's played it to death.
So the question is: Do you know any Co-op RPG games that offer both a good and fun hack 'n' slash or clicky combat system and provide a very decent story to boot.
(She loved the story of Summoner)

Thanks in advance!

Borderlands is a good split-screen co-op FPS game with RPG elements in it.

Gah i wish that Dragon Age had a online multiplayer co-op option. That would be the only other thing I could wish for with that game.

Marvel Ultimate alliance games are fun and you level up your characters but its not really a true RPG.

sure she worships you, uh huh i bet...
anyway
You're right, she does wear the trousers but she does see quite a lot of my HoN skills.
Regardless Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals has a very weak story line.
Plus isn't it on the Gamecube and Ds...
I like Champions of Norrath though

Champions of Norrath was a good game. Just be sure not to get in an arguement about loot. x3
Does it have an engaging storyline?

The reason i ask this is because i recently brought Sacred 2:Fallen Angel and she didn't like it solely because of its lack in story...

Thanks for the quick replies though :)

Was thinking about Borderlands but she's piss poor at FPS's.
I am with you on the Dragon age idea though! I was going to get it because i thought it was Co-op but i won't be now. :(

P.s. I know i said Playstation two games too but are there any Xbox 360 ones that stand out?
I already have a pretty sweet setup for it.

Tetris, gir... everyone loves tetris!
Anyway, FF:CC is wonderful for co-op and WoW makes relationships grow <3

It has a relatively nice storyline. Saving the world, and all that. It's not really open, more structured, if that's what she likes.

Summoner 2?
I know it exists but I'm not sure if it is two player. Otherwise I would like to hear of some myself, I haven't seen many I can recall. I'm pretty much set with my girlfriend though, we'll just kill the lights and play Silent Hill.
I somtimes think she has an unhealthy obsession.

She told me earlier that she's the master of Tetris so you may be onto something.
Like a co-op tetris?! :)

I quit WoW 7 months ago because of her so i'm definitely not getting into that Mr Sarcasm.

Summoner 2 Crushed her soul. I brought it for her thinking she would love me more but instead i got a teary eyed girlfriend because 1 Joesph wasn't in it and 2 it wasn't the same style of Summoner 1 :(

Champions: Return to Arms would work nicely. Like, REALLY nicely.
This would work well. It's a very good slashy slashy RPG. I've played it quite a lot with friends of mine and it never really gets old.

The Baldur's Gate for the PS2 had a multiplayer (I think - I got it for the XBox and I'm assuming it's the same game...). That was a fun little game :)

Ohhh...ouch. Sheeh.
Well I know the secret FMV can't be any better than the first, all the characters sitting around playing D&D. Now that was funny.
Hm, you know I don't think there really -are- that many to choose from. I remember an old RPG where it could be done, but it was for the Genesis and had zero story. Bummer.

Huh. Closest I can think of would be the Tales series, which are typically pretty fun to play, and with good stories. The main navigation and exploration aspects are naturally singe-player, but combat can involve multiple people. I'd recommend either Tales of the Abyss (PS2) or Tales of Vesperia (Xbox 360).

<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz38e5-wXgs>Two people playing. And they're pretty damn good at it, too (sadly, this vid apparently suffered much on transition to Youtube).

I'd recommend Tales of Symphonia above those, but it's for the Gamecube (there was a PS2 port, but it never left Japan).

If not previously stated, Diablo 2. It can be rigged up to be 2 Players on 1 CD....
Yeah that was definitely one i considered but i can't remember there being much of a story.
This does make me think though how Online gaming has ruined the Co-op generation that was the Playstation 2 days.
Thanks for all the suggestions though guys. I really appreciate it.
