Good evening fellow Escapists, i need your help.
Obviously as the title says, Co-op RPG's, i am inquiring as to whether you know of many for the following consoles:
PC, Playstation 2 and Xbox 360.
Basically I love to play video games but i often find my girlfriend sitting there watching as:
1. She doesn't like TV
2. She doesn't like to read
3. She doesn't do work when i'm around
and 4. She worships the ground i walk on (Slight exaggeration)

Regardless she used to play a game called Summoner, which i am aware is 2 player but she's played it to death.
So the question is: Do you know any Co-op RPG games that offer both a good and fun hack 'n' slash or clicky combat system and provide a very decent story to boot.
(She loved the story of Summoner)

Thanks in advance!
Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance is kind of fun. As is borderlands.
Maybe you should ask if she even likes videogames first?
Also, were you aware there's a summoner 2? maybe buy that for her?

Summoner 2?
I know it exists but I'm not sure if it is two player. Otherwise I would like to hear of some myself, I haven't seen many I can recall. I'm pretty much set with my girlfriend though, we'll just kill the lights and play Silent Hill.
I somtimes think she has an unhealthy obsession.
Summoner 2 Crushed her soul. I brought it for her thinking she would love me more but instead i got a teary eyed girlfriend because 1 Joesph wasn't in it and 2 it wasn't the same style of Summoner 1 :(
Yeah, two was kind of a stinking piece of crap, but as for Joseph, I thought he was a pretty forgettable character... to each their own i guess.

Yes she does like Video games but she just doesn't like to place them on her own.
One game she did get addicted to was American McPhee's Alice...
I need to look around more but thanks for all the help guys.

Borderlands. You could maybe play shooters with so-op, like Halo 3 or something.

Note that you can play the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series in multi-player, over LAN for instance. One of the players will still be the protagonist and the other will just be party member. You could have her be the protagonist, and take Anomen in the party since he will try to start a romance with female protagonists. That should make for some interesting conversations ;)

Fable II has co-op. I didn't particularly enjoy it as a single-player RPG but it's probably a much better experience with two people. Other than that, Borderlands is definitely made for multiplayer.

Not that i don't appreciate the whole Boarderlands is a good RPG stuff but i've already said that she is absolutely piss poor at FPS games.
I tried to get her into Halo 3 when we first got together, she didn't know the difference between an elite and a spartan.
Nonetheless i appreciate all the help you've given me :)
Its just always a bit annoying that when you play co-op games the other player is just a stand in character that just helps the protagonist out and not an actual character embedded into the story line.
Keep them coming if you know any more, i guess there are a lot of us guys who want Co-op games for our feurers.

Serious Sam works well in split screen... oh wait
Although that isn't an RPG i still think that could possibly work. I think she'd enjoy the random suicide bombers and the weird headcrap things ha :D
Nice one.

Shining Tears on the PS2 has a co-op mode. You can even cast area-of-effect spells and their range and power depends on how far apart you are.

I actually had a look at that game before posting, looked quite good from the video i saw but i'm still waiting for her to give me a verdict.

P.s. She had a little read earlier of all the posts, she approves and thanks you all.
Thats something to be happy about.

American McGee's Alice?
Well, hopefully the sequel might get developed soon (I know the trailer was a hoax, but they also didn't deny there would be a sequel).

I don't really know, but I'd say let her play the games and you watch.
That's what I do
Nameless, i play Left4Dead, Fallout 3 and DoTA. Not really a good selection of games, although she does seem to be looking at Dragonage... :D

Meh, just go play WoW. Or wait for SW: ToR.
As i said i quit WoW like 6 months ago so that is a no go, plus she wouldn't start it when i asked ha. Regardless SW TOR sounds like a very nice, would be nice if we could play it co-op...

Borderlands is a good split-screen co-op FPS game with RPG elements in it.
I have to agree with this guy, I've had great fun with my brother on Borderlands.
