I'm kinda less impressed since it's just running on a N-Spire which is the newest calc out there. I'm more impressed with the contra game that was running on BASIC on a 84/83 (BASIC is not ment to do smooth graphics like ASM which was what made it so cool).

Hah wow, I've had some Doom clone (among other games) on my Ti-84 for a few years now, but to get the full game working is a step in the right direction.

Now make me Quake 2 for my graphing calculator!

Computer engineers are a strange bunch. I should know, i'm becoming one.
lol that's awesome.

OT: that is sweet he got that to work..but honestly i do like paying attention in class so destroying my calculators life playing that game probably wouldn't happen anytime soon for me.

that's pretty badass

but this is cooler

MINERALS, NOT ENOUGH OF 'EM
Impressive, but just from a techincal stand point Doom is a larger challenge, since you have to work in photo 3-D effects and movement.

What is surprising is that TI still gets away with a puke-green 1980s LCD in a calculator that costs as much as a netbook. The physical parts in those machines combined and assembled aren't worth more than $30, they could at least give their customers proper black and white displays.

I look forward to my children being able to play mass effect 2 on their electric toothbrushes, and maybe Duke Nukem on their Graphing Calculators.
Hehe, I thought of that strip right after I pushed the submit button.

Doom and Crysis are the twin jokes of gaming. One is impossible to run and the other will run on anything.

This inspired me to go hunting for an Android port of Doom.

Found a free one, but since the game won't let me adjust the volume with the actual volume buttons I can't really take the time to figure out the controls in the middle of the night.

Aside from the obligatory "because he can" why the hell would he do this?

I feel really bad for math teachers though. Now when they think they're getting through to students that are deeply engrossed in their graphing calculators, they're really just losing them to a life of fragging demons.
No big loss since they lost 'em to Tetris years ago.

Math would be so much less boring if I could play Doom on my calculator. I'd rather shoot Pinkies with shotguns than spell out funny words with numbers and letters.
This looks very interesting indeed!

Well that's Calculators banned in schools in a few years...Next up, Pokemon (RBY) on the Microwave.

Still excellent job, most impressive thing i have seen today.

I am OK with this.

Also all the people ITT who are all like "hurr old news" are either annoying or conceited. And by that I mean those who are a) annoying or b) conceited about it. Either way.

That.....it's...but...how...

This is why I love being a geek. Not that I'm anywhere near smart enough to do something like that, but still.

That is awesome.

impressive...most impressive

I woulda just been happy to have gotten Mario (never got around to it tho)

and I guess there's more to my common joke about those old shooters: they require less processing power than our calculators nowadays (not quite there yet but...)
