I have not read any before just wondering if anyone has any recommendation on where to start
Preacher is top notch graphic novel,
irregardless of what yahtzee had said, it is a well written comic

also, american vampire is pretty good, thought it's not done yet.
Finally, the walking dead has been pretty good so far
Gotta be honest with you, I have only herd of the walking dead, my knowledge is minimum so I appreciate the ones I have not herd of.

I will look into them and see what's happening

Thanks for the recommendations
NP brothaman, tons of titles out there you can check out, try this one out for size
http://www.the-gutters.com/, it's webcocmic I know, but it has a twist
Will do, a web comic is just as good for me if its well written and what not and its easier as I dont have to move to go and buy it or what have you :D

Thanks

Hellboy. Best introduction to comics ever.

When you're done with that and B.P.R.D., read Y: The Last Man, The Walking Dead, and like everyone's suggesting, Transmetropolitan. It is an absolutely brilliant piece of literature. Watchmen isn't bad, but it's vastly overrated.
Afterwards, read Scott Pilgrim, and everything by Brian Wood. His writing is universally excellent.
Will do :D

Just out of curiosity B.P.R.D stand for anything (only answer is you got time through)

Thanks :D
It stands for Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. They're first introduced in Hellboy, where he is one of their agents. Eventually he gets pissed and quits, though, and the BPRD series is a spinoff that focuses on the characters he left behind. It's even better than the original in some ways, and Guy Davis' art is amazing. I'd recommend not starting it until you read the first five volumes of Hellboy, though.

Like most people will say Scott Pilgrim does own on another level.
I know you said comics and graphic novels but when you read as much as I do the line isn't that massive but have you tried looking into One Piece? Or the more popular Dragonball or DBZ, some people would say "OMFG NARUTO FTW" or the same for Bleach but I dunno what all the fuss is about.

But getting back on track, my collection of choice which I'd recommend:
Watchmen
V for Vendetta
Dark Knight Returns
Killing Joke
Kick Ass
Punisher - Welcome back Frank
Hellboy
Wolverine and Deadpool (the comic)
of course Scott Pilgrim
Ultimate Fantastic Four
Transformers I think it was the Armada series I read
The Ultimate Avengers (I borrowed something on the lines of this from my mums boyfriend awhile ago so not to sure if that was the name, but it was The Avengers)
oh and if the whole Manga thing isn't an option for being odd, maybe trying The Marvel Mangaverse would be a good place to start (the 5 or 6 issue mini series)
Now we move onto something I know about I was all about One Piece like a year ago, I did have a weird obsession with Pirates for a while after that, but that's a embarrassing moment for another day :D

My god have you got some list going there, I appreciate that :D

I shall look into them as I get the time to go through said mighty list

Thanks

Without a doubt, I'd pick Sandman. Holy nuts that one will blow you away if you are into weird fantasy.

If a you want something more traditional with superheroes, I just finished Batman: The Long Halloween, and I gotta recommend it.
I do like weird so Sandman shall be read :D

A long halloween also sounds good so I will look into that

Thanks

Please avail yourself of the grand majesty of the library, not only do they bury the lies and false histories there but most now have pretty decent comics compilation collections, graphic novels, etc. "Understanding Comics," by Scott McCloud, is essential (I was gonna say 'seminal' but I didn't wanna make you laugh) if you wanna start creating your own stuff.
Sounds good to me.

bad times I do enjoy a good laugh.

If I did create anything it would be awful but ah what the hell it will amuse me lol

thanks :D

I think Scott Pilgrim would be the obvious one, since it's the bestest best comic I've ever read. Hell, it's better than most of my favourite films and games too.
Yeah totes

Watchmen, Scott Pilgrim, and Bone.

Also the following Batman stuff - Year One, The Killing Joke, The Long Halloween, Hush, The Dark Knight Returns.

And, since I've just ploughed through the entirety of Blackest Night, I recommend that. And Green Lantern stuff in general.

Even if you don't it's still a fun read. It was one of the first DCU books I read, having no knowledge of the universe beforehand.

Aye aye I shall look into those cheers.

Just a question feel free not to answer if you are busy (or just don't care :D) but was Batman: Year One where he is a caveman or something like that?

Thanks

Transmetropolitan, Deadpool Classic 1-4, Superman Red Son, Fables (my favourite), Sandman, Ex Machina, Batman The Long Halloween, Logicomix, V for Vendetta (way better then the movie), Watchmen, Marvel 1602, Serenity Better Days, Serenity Those Left Behind, Ronin, Shooting War, Atomic Robo (seriously, fantastic stuff), Scott Pilgrim, Batman the Dark Knight Returns, Arkham Asylum, Batman Year One, Punisher Year One, Marvel Zombies, the Walking Dead, any of the Deadpool trade paperbacks, this doesn't really count but, The Complete Calvin and Hobbes.

There's alllooottt of good graphic novels out there. Go to a comic book store, buy whatever looks cool.
