Well, even if I said I decided to start reading a book, I end up looking for comics to start reading.....
No regrets of course. Comics are AWESOME!!!

So I decided to share some unknown comics that most of you don't know, but are REALLY good:
Here are my first suggestions:

I would like also hear your suggestions as well. I love to read comics.

Cheers!!!

Well these would be mine....

http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/comic/ch01/ch01_01.html
Unsounded's pretty damn good.

http://www.teahousecomic.com/

(Warning, Teahouse is basically gay porn with minor plot and nothing truly graphic showing. Death and sex abound. 18+. Remember that 'good' is subjective to opinion.)

Hope you enjoy...

Another suggestion I have to make, but sadly I don't know when it will come out:

I only read this comic because I pledged to its Kickstarter.
However I suggest strongly to buy it. Over 200 pages, many different artists and personal good reason, the comic of Alex Ahad, the artist behind the fighting game "Skullgirls":

Sam And Fuzzy. That's all I got. Definitely worth a read. It's about an amnesiac bear-like creature and a taxi cab driver who gets involved with the mafia. It kinda snowballs from there. It has funny bits, and darker moments. Like a good film, really.

Since i'm not really that much into the "scene", i don't know how unknown these comics are, but i just try

Hawkeye (The new Matt Fraction Run)

Basically what a Marvel TV Show should be like (high hopes for Alias, though), it's about what Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Kate Bishop (also Hawkeye) do when they are not on bigger Avengers business. Wich mostly involves getting into trouble with lesser criminals, like a tracksuit-clad mafia that uses "Bro" as a punctuation (,Bro). Or maybe a leaked VHS-Tape of Hawkeye doing a Black-Ops Assassination for SHIELD. Or hooking up his home theater system with the help of Tony Stark.

It's quirky, Clint and Kate (and Pizza Dog) are great protagonists, and it's fun for me to see a guy fighting crime and getting constantly in over his head because even though he's an Avenger, he is fragile and human and a bow can be quite useless when you get rushed by a half dozen guys.

Oh, and it has great Artwork:

Mind MGMT

A weird, but crazy creative comic about a writer who investigates an incident where everyone aboard a passenger flight suddenly lost thier memories and eventually stumbles upon a secret organization that employs psychic spies (not necessarily from china) who try to steal your mind's elation, among other things.
It digs deep into characters with almost godlike powers and shows the downsides who come with them while maintaining a stong "Cold-War Espionage" Vibe.

And, again, it is very uniquely drawn.

It's a #1 bestseller, so I wouldn't say it's very unknown, but since it's one of the greatest, and possibly the greatest, msuperhero comic books being published right now, I'd say recommending it was still a darn good idea of you.

Thanks, as i said, i'm really uninvolved in the comics scene or marked, and i'm german where absolutely no one but hardcore fans even heard of that comic, i can't really say what's popular and what is not.

I don't know if it still qualifies as unknown - it has a big following on DeviantArt - but I'll recommend it anyway.

Come for the hot girl-on-girl bondage sex and stay for the wonderfully written and relatable characters and the fantastic artwork (oh, and the hot girl-on-girl bondage sex.)

Needless to say it is rather NSFW, and you'll need to register a free account at DA to see the pages, but it's well worth it.

Ah, yes. I know this one.
However I believe even if this comics series had many followers, it is fairly unknown.

I doubt its unknown here, but probably deserves an honorable mention due to its content and absolute hilarity, 8-bit Theater. Combine Final Fantasy 1 with irreverent douchebag humor much like a comic version of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia and you get 8-bit Theater. Definitely worth a read through. It has ended so you have a few years of comics to sift through. Just google it, its easier that way.

Also probably not unknown here, but worth a mention as a counterpoint to Penny Arcade in that it actually has a plot rather than random comics of the day is Megatokyo. Being honest, its the only Manga (I know its sacrilege to say an american Manga is true manga but whatever) I actually like enough to read... Plus it deals with mindsets I actually deal with.

I don't know how obscure it is, but I'm currently enjoying zoophobia ( http://www.zoophobiacomic.com/Zoophobia/ ) it hasn't been running long so there aren't many pages, but whats there is promising.

Hoooonestly not really, Germans are mostly into the Belgian/French Stuff like Asterix or Tintin.

Only notable things i would come up with are the Works of Ralf König who did a lot of lewd and LGBT oriented stuff in the 80ies and early 90ies (most notably Kondom des Grauens [Killer Condom] and Der Bewegte Mann [Maybe, maybe not], both of wich got movie adaptions) and Walter Moers, who did pretty much everything from childrens stuff to somewhat controversial (for it's time) crass adult humor comics.

That said, we germans mostly have Wilhelm Busch to offer, who made a kind of forerunner to modern comics with Max & Moritz, comic-strip-like tales about two mischievous boys (who are eventually killed as they fall into the machinery of a mill as a kind of disproportionate comeuppance) thats said to directly inspire US comics.

EDIT: Okay, i remembered something else, "Nichtlustig" aka "Notfunny", a series of very popular off-beat humor caricatures/comics that, well, mostly work with weird non-humor

Rice Boy

[link]http://www.rice-boy.com/see/[/link]

I do believe I've recommended this web comic several times on the Escapist, but I have no idea if anyone had ever gone and checked it out. It's a strange little fantasy comic, but the kind of fantasy that does away with elves/dwarves/orcs/let's be like Tolkien. However, I find the oddities of this little universe the author created to be quite delightful. The art style is very unique and colorful, clearly signifying the work of a little known visionary. It's the artist's first work, I do believe, and it does show in some areas. It seems like that he really wants to show you a world that he's created rather than telling a story. However, it's a very unique and fantastic little world, and I really hope you do check it out!

Vattu

[link]http://www.rice-boy.com/vattu/[/link]

Made by the same guy who made Rice Boy, Evan Dahm. This is his current work and it's still a work in progress. You can really see some improvement in his work, being much more mature and focussed than Rice Boy. It deals with themes of slavery, imperialism, and rebellion. It's close to about 500 pages and it's nowhere near finished, but I've been hooked on it since day one. The story is more focussed, the characters are interesting and have more defining personalities, and the art style is much much sharper. I really want more people to read this. I guarantee that you'll like it!

Oh Geez, so many comics I must read indeed in the future.
Well, time to post a Greek comic for a change.

Soldier Cain [Στρατιώτης Κέιν in Greek]

This is a story of a hero...no, f*ck that. He is an assh*le. An assassin taking orders to go an kill innocent people most of the times.
And he is enjoy it, a lot.

Sadly, I don't know even now if this comic had an English translation.
