Well, adding a grind certainly sounds like a possible conclusion to the saga, in the sense that it might bury the (already crap) series so deep it will not be considered worth milking anymore.

The first RTS game with heavy RPG elements...Hey, EA, did you ever here of a little game called DEMIGOD?
Ever heard of Warcraft 3?

This has been done before, and well. It doesn't have to be awful...

Also, doesn't "MMOG Elements" just mean a persistent online world? It doesn't have to have XP and character classes to do that, just an army that you take into every battle that you can upgrade after every fight...
hah but this also means that if you're little brother happens to find you're PC with the game open and start wandering around helplessly and getting you're whole army killed

you're blatantly fucked and need to start over
Aaand how is that any different from any other game? A basic idea I've found is not leaving my computer free while anyone who might screw it up is nearby...

sometiems I wonder if there any real reason for me to get excited over anything anymore. *sigh* way-to-go EA, making things worse for C&C4.....

C&C4, the survey states, will be "the first RTS game with MMORPG like player progression in which you are rewarded every time you play." Whenever you kill a unit in any mode, you'll receive experience points that will allow you to level up abilities, unlock new units, powers and upgrades. Adding to the MMOG-esque nature of the game would be the inclusion of player classes, which EA calls a "new challenge for C&C and RTS players to master."
Like Age of Emipires 3 Town hall system where you can get bonuses shipped to you so long as you have progressed up the bonus tree?

"the first mobile base in RTS games,"
Like the Fatboy from Supream Commander that could dock air craft, produce units, and fire 4 battle ship sized cannon batteries from a mobile platform?

I am just trying to say that EA's "inovations" are stolen from other games. The game still could be good, but inovative it is not.

Co-op NOOOOOOOO, that damn co-op feature ruined RA3 for me.

What the hell is with that survey? It is on a co.uk website, but asks me which state I live in.
Yeah, i got that too, it didn't even have an "other" option.

Stop Right there. There's been quite a few of them, and they didn't turn out well.
Oh really? Which ones?
Spellforce 1 & 2
Battle For Middle Earth
Titan Quest
Demigod
Fallout Tactics (However that was a RPG with RTS elements but it still counts)
Warcraft 2 & 3

I want it to be exactly like the first, but better. That is what the sequals were supposed to do, but so far, none have. Though 3 atleast felt more like a sequal unlike all the the other RTS games with C&C tacked on.

Tiberian Dawn was a masterpiece. I waited for Tiberian Sun like religious people wait for the second coming, but when it finally arrived, I only played a couple of multiplayer matches before turning away in disgust and going back to Starcraft. I also tried Generals, and recently tried RA3 demo. I see no evidence of EA ever having turned out a C&C game worth playing.

Adding a leveling system to online multiplayer is a bad idea. It completely defeats the point of an RTS. It's supposed to be a battle of wits, not a battle of how long you play. A LOT of RTS fans are going to be very, very upset if this trend catches on.

Thankfully, I can't stand the genre.

You know this only really works with squad-level RTS, something that Command & Conquer is not. Why couldn't they just stick with the unit veterancy mechanic? That was cool...

The main RTS competitors of starcraft are all going their separate ways (or at least down the same path, away from starcraft). In general, I think DOW2 is better than DOW. I mean, if I want to play starcraft, i'll just play starcraft... never much cared for DOW (or DOW2...) But DOW2 does at least bring something different to the table, rather than being starcraft 1.5.

If C&C wants to do something different, I applaud them, as I have not enjoyed an entry to the series since the first game.

C&C is NEVER meant to have rpg elements. This is just a stupid ploy to get non C&C fans a reason to get into it. I'm sorry but this is crap, I have followed C&C since it first began on my windows 95 to C&C 3 on my laptop, it will really take a miracle for this to be good even though these ideas are speculation.
