I have a job delivering newspapers. When someone is on their front lawn, I hand the paper to them, as opposed to just chucking it on their porch. I also took a good half hour out of my work because an old man wanted to have a half-hour conversation on the shitty state of the economy and how greedy politicians are, which he got inspired to talk about by the sight of a 21-year old college graduate walking up to him on his porch and handing him a newspaper.

I spend a good chunk of my days applying for jobs. Whenever I get lucky enough for someone to actually respond to my application, I make a point of thanking them.

I won't take credit for someone else's screw up, but I see no reason to be rude.

If you ignore how informal I am (I call pretty much everyone dude/bro) i'm a very nice person. Until you give me a reason not to be, then i'm a dick.

I usually do the hold doors, bless you etc, for fear of someone going mental at me for not doing so :S.

But alerting people who speeding that police are ahead is technically illegal I believe. So, I don't do that. Or speed. Seems to work out for the best

Common courtesy is usually the only form of comunication I have with strangers.

"Thanks."
"There you go."
"No trouble."
"After you."
"Your dog is stuck in the sliding doors."

Rules don't apply very well to people, so I don't follow any set courtesies. I just try to be pleasant. Sometimes, it even works!

Like a car stopped for me so i could pass. I gave him a wave and said "cheers" and my friend pointed out, "He cant here you know, you may aswell be calling him a ****" lol
A while ago, the headmaster at my school called half the school to an assembly, where he demanded that every single one of us did this every single time we crossed the road. Apparently not doing it is unbelievably rude.

...I don't take him seriously.

Being polite is one small thing you can do to make the world a better place. I know I try to.

I apologize.

For every thing, i have actually had someone stand on my toe in the cinema and i apologized to them
I'm over apologetic as well.

"[DTJ], you say you're sorry way too much. You should cut back."

"Oh, sorry about that."

Yes, I have apologized for apologizing.

I'm pretty much a perfect gentleman when it comes to women unless there are other dudes around. And it's not because I'm embarrassed by acting that way it's just because I'm being torn apart by the two different ways that I act.

I like to say please and thank you. Also, when I walk across the road I wave at the cars that have stopped as a "thank you". If I have finished speaking to someone I don't know too well I shake their hand. My parents taught me that manners don't cost anything.
