I am currently sitting in my uni apartment completely bored out of my face.
I have no cable, no console or any games on my laptop, and seeing as I have a download limit because I'm linked to the university internet streaming video is also out of the question.
Also There is no way I will get myself motivated to study.

To entertain myself (apart from posting a little on The Escapist), I have:

-Shaved my sideburns
-Thrown a ball into the air for 20 minutes
-Played with my Zippo

The most recent 'entertainment' I have chosen for myself is watching a block of ice melt in a bottle.

So, in hopes of acquiring a little bit more enjoyment from this day before dinner time, I was wondering if any of you have ever just sat around your place doing some silly thing just to pass time, and if so, what was it?

Get some guys together and play a sport, that was the only way I kept sane in uni

Hmm yes, those are all logical things you'd do when you're bored. I'm asking you if you've ever just done something useless because you're bored and don't have anything better to do.

Not looking for advice on what to do, but thanks for the offer :)

Download limit prevents flash games and any other sort of online entertainment except for text.
Still, not looking for advice, but thanks.

Go for a shit, read a book, find some one to talk to, go out and rent a DVD and watch it, tidy your apartment, do push ups/ sit ups, go for a random walk.

Seriously, are we so dependent on technology these days that we can think of nothing else to do?

Are you so blind you can't see the purpose of this thread was NOT to find stuff for me to do?

I appreciate you giving me suggestions, but I didn't ask for them. But yeah I have some weights here so when I'm bored I usually lift those. Not feeling that though.

I've read.

I've Slept.

I've read some more.

I've played some WarCraft 3

I've banged my head on the wall for a couple of hours.

I've pondered why we live.

I've rode my bike.

I've watched a movie.

I've jumped off of my 2 story roof into a pile of snow.

I've talked to friends.

I've wondered why trolls exist.

That is all.

Usually I just play games, read a book, try and do some writing or randomly browse the internet.

Sometimes I feel as though I never really do anything productive and am just wasting my time, but then again:

"The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time." - Bertrand Russell

OK sorry about that, my bad. I'm hungover and in a foul mood, thats probably the reason for my slightly aggressive post and why I jumped to conclusions and didn't read the OP in it's entirety :p

But yeah, to answer the question you actually asked, the stuff I suggested is what I do when I'm bored. Not "silly" as such, but they work :p

I usually write songs. I've written about a thousand (mostly awful) songs in the last decade. Sometimes just lyrics, sometimes up to ten pages with notes or chords.
I'm at work now actually and I think that's exactly what I'm going to do now.

It's my birthday today, and I'm spending it writing an essay which is due in tomorrow. You'd be surprised at what I do to procrastinate this. For example, I went completely OCD on my desktop, and now my Windows Vista is completely customised.

Yup, I was just that bored. Hell I even have Ubuntu on dual boot now, just so I can pass the time by switching between the two.

I think the most "silly" thing I've done--that was in no way constructive like reading or drawing-- would be playing spy hunter on my cell in between texts.

Or flipping a large, green eraser in between my fingers. I do that when bored...I don't know why...
