We here at Gizmodo are anything but fearmongering sensationalists. We're analytical, skeptical, and rational at all costs. That being said, this robot train ran over some dude in Miami and everyone in south Florida should run for their lives.

The story: An unmanned, computerized train slowly rolled forward onto a repairman, who unfortunately did not survive. Authorities haven't come to a conclusion, saying it rolled for "unknown reasons," but we'll leave you, excitable readers, to draw your own conclusions.

Police say a Metromover car rolled over and killed a station supervisor as he inspected the tracks.

The accident happened Saturday. The computerized vehicle, which is not driven by a conductor, was stopped, but moved forward for an unknown reason.

Police found the body about 100 feet from the platform; the identity of the supervisor wasn't released.

This is the second public transit worker death in the last week. On Sunday night, a 60-year-old Metrorail security officer was shot and killed by two men in a station garage.

I, for one, welcome our new Robot Overlords.

I suggest you all read this book... now:

Well damn, SKYNET has figured out to highjack trains. It's just a matter of time until it can get our planes or, God forbid, our automobiles.

If he was 100ft from the platform it didn't just roll forward, it drilled him at high speed. Must've been a nasty sight.

Might've been a simple computer error, just a shame it cost someone their life.

That is wonderful. Hah.
When they learn to get off the rails, then I'll worry. Until then, I'll try to get more idiots to stand on the rails.

Do you think they can charge the programmer with murder?

I have heard less stupid ideas going to trial.

Well, here's more proof, if Milo wasn't enough, that Skynet is plotting a hostile takeover.

Perhaps it was murder? I mean, this sounds like a classic case on Psych or Monk.

Either way, that's pretty freaky. I pledge allegiance to my new overlords.

I saw this on the local news and it's a shame. The guy had two kids.
Unfortunately, you two seem to be the only ones who noticed that someone lost their life. So...thank you.

As soon as I heard that, the only thing I could imagine was a giant, worm-like, cute puppy rolling over and crushing someone.

I'm not sure whether that's one of my minds many defense mechanisms or not, but by god it's an adorable mental image.

God damn that must be a terrible way to go. Getting crushed by anything is a horrible way to die.

I don't know about you but I'm stocking up on electro buck. Everyone knows shotguns are highly effective against robots.

Then again, what aren't they effective against?
