Computerized Train kills a Man

We here at Gizmodo are anything but fearmongering sensationalists. We're analytical, skeptical, and rational at all costs. That being said, this robot train ran over some dude in Miami and everyone in south Florida should run for their lives.

The story: An unmanned, computerized train slowly rolled forward onto a repairman, who unfortunately did not survive. Authorities haven't come to a conclusion, saying it rolled for "unknown reasons," but we'll leave you, excitable readers, to draw your own conclusions.

Police say a Metromover car rolled over and killed a station supervisor as he inspected the tracks.

The accident happened Saturday. The computerized vehicle, which is not driven by a conductor, was stopped, but moved forward for an unknown reason.

Police found the body about 100 feet from the platform; the identity of the supervisor wasn't released.

This is the second public transit worker death in the last week. On Sunday night, a 60-year-old Metrorail security officer was shot and killed by two men in a station garage.

As soon as I heard that, the only thing I could imagine was a giant, worm-like, cute puppy rolling over and crushing someone.
