Y'know I've spent like 10 years talking about gender in games and I cannot even begin to pretend to give a shit that there's a dick slider in a game now.

I've not heard of this game until now, though, so good on them for using it for publicity. It's a smart move. And funny.

I don't find it to be about any of these above mentioned things.
To me, it's about equality (nude women with bouncy boobs, nude men with swinging penises) and about depicting the human body as something natural.
Food for thought, some people think showing a nude body is "immature".

Holy shit, I thought that title was click bait. Someone's actually done it. Some fool has finally opened Pandora's Fly! Customizable dicks in every game in 2018, confirming it now. This is so fucking great. I want the PC version of games like Saints Row to follow suit and, at the very least give preset dicks to choose from.

What we get in videogames, instead, is bouncing boobs and close-up of ladybutts.

We get the first videogame with a bouncing penis out of 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 videogames with bouncing boobs, and people already complain.
Imagine what women have to put up with, if ONE occasion in which the opposite ahappens is enough to annoy certain people.

Also, this game features nude vaginas just as it features nude penis. So I don't see the problem.

GTA: Lost and Damned and Outlast come to mind. Then there's also Mount Your Friends(although, dicks there are tightly packaged) and of course Genital Jousting.

There is also Dante's Inferno where you get to see Satan's enormous dick in the last fight. There is Genital Jousting where you literally play penises. Those games don't receive that much publicity because of this acceptance of male genitalia.

The interesting part about that in Watch Dogs 2 is that they did also have modelled peni. That was what made the whole Ubi removing the snuck in vag and apologising, a bit more of a complex issue.

I would not call it "acceptance of male genitalia". It's more like, "the general view is that videogames are for Straight Males, so dicks are not sexy for them, so they are not pervert and sexy".

Which has the advantage that when you put a random dick in a videogame it's theorically no big deal.
But has the disadvantage that while nobody cares if a videogame is full of bouncing boobs, everyone makes a big deal of a videogame full of swinging penises.

All in all, I welcome the notion that nudity in videogame may finally become more acceptable and common. First of all, Western culture needs to get out of their head the wrong notion that nudity = sex (and sex = nudity).

Nudity in games has been such a hairy issue that they might as well go balls out.

Of course, some people are gonna go nuts over this.

If the game is good, it's gonna come out swinging.

I say we erect a statue in the devs' honor.

The process of crafting the tools must have been long and hard.

It's not something they would just stick in a hole.

No, I don't think so. I've never been particularly upset about things like DOA's bubble-boobs either.

Most of the gender stuff I care about are things like "I'd like women to be able to use mic without dudes freaking out" and "Hey maybe not every main character needs to be Bland White Man".

I don't think the occasional naughty-part in games is too big a deal.
