I learned Japanese just so I could play iDOLM@STER
and lord my ability to play untranslated games over others.
I think Sword Art Online is better than Log Horizion.
I wish desperately that SAO was a real game, and that full dive one day works as depicted in the novels.
I think Attack on Titan is the most juvenile nonsense this side of the sun and anyone that's watched more then 10 non-shounen anime would probably agree.
I have over 4000 hours game time logged in WoW and I regret not a single minute of it.
I wish that I had Saotome Ranma's ability to tranform back and forth between being a man and woman at will.

Now thanks to a single screenshot on Funnyjunk i'm playing Grisaia no Kaijitsu, no I can't spell or pronounce it offhand either. It looks pretty good though i'm well out of the true opening scenes and there has yet to be ANY choices. It makes all the moves of starting a choice then just trails off with your main character being a killjoy but on the other hand, it's nice that he is Shounen anime protagonist levels of competent. How long is this going to be anyway? I suppose the fact that it has 10 pages of separate save slots on hand may be quite telling. I guess this amount of play time makes accidentally tripping the Bad Ending SUPER depressing.
I guess a nice thing about being over here in the West is that nobody bothers to translate the generic crap Visual Novels so you have all the well received good ones instead. At least that's the impression I get, though the same isn't true for anime.
Oh, Grisaia! I forgot that the English patch was released a little while ago. You're in for a treat my good friend! It's easily one of my favourite VNs of 2011. I might check out the English patch, it's been on my mind for a reread lately. Suou is the best girl. I'm telling you now.
On Attack on Titan, every Shounen anime is pretty juvenile in its own way that's kind of inevitable but after so long without watching anything like old traditional Shounen stuff, Attack on Titan reminded me that Shounen still exists as a genre for a reason. It's fuckin' hype. Yes it may be gimmicky but that Maneuver Gear though... The double swords and all the fucking flying gaspacks fqpasdjiausdhsdoishi so hype. It has to be the Game of Thronesy level of character death and grim world tinged with the slightest glimmer of hope that makes it dissimilar to the rest. I never even noticed it was technically a Shounen until someone told me. I haven't touched any Shounen since I dropped Bleach way back in the day.
Yeah looking back, the level of how people just would not die or would bounce back from death stopped me from enjoying that genre so much. It's the risk I think, people don't get back up in AoT. You make one wrong move and you're fucked. That and the sheer level of swag they put into the uniforms. You thought the unrealistically short jackets were cool? If you're a real man you'll get yourself this awesome winged cape. It's fine I guess... You can go to the guys wearing ponies and flowers if you want.
I just have a real appreciation for those sort of iconic visuals. I would be that guy with a huge Gurren Lagann poster in his room picturing Kamina pointing to the sky if I had the money and space.
On Grisaia, I dunno, Yuuji sure shows off some serious manliness with Yumiko's Route... I was not wrong with the Shounen anime protagonist comparison either, for your typical VN protagonist he feels like freaking Goku. Amane, not to rip off Yuuji's own words but god is she convenient. I'm waiting for the catch, she's going to turn out to be like Space Hitler or something later on.
Oh and it throws every girl choice at you within the same half an hour which was a little odd but not unwelcome. I took the hint to save everything separately of course.
I'm hopping between Michiru and Yumiko, I like Yumiko as a character the most but i'm not super thrilled with the bodyguard thing and I am constantly going up and down with Michiru. I love any tsundere character (it's a weakness of mine really) but i'm not sure what to feel about someone consciously acting like a tsundere without really *being* a tsundere character. Everyone else is on the same mid tier then there's just this annoying lolicon thing down in the depths somewhere, I pretend to not notice it I turned that one's volume slider down long ago.
10/10 best feature, must have in all games ever.
By the way Yuuji is such a fucking tsundere himself. Amane just had to point it out and now it's all I can notice. A high quality one too, who even barely uses the tried and tested stock phrases.
[sub][sub]It's not like i'm protecting you because I want to or anything...[/sub][/sub]
I guess there's no hope for Chizuru secretly having a route? Her voice is like the sweetest thing!
