A holy site is burning. They can see it. Rather than concern or respectful quiet, the response is ecstatic dancing to booming music.
A tree caught fire uphill from their annual dancing and booming music celebration.
Like, there are so many valid criticisms you can make. The escalating clashes between protestors and police started this time from Israel putting covid restrictions on Ramadan celebrations. There's plenty of room for criticism there. Like, Israel has been very aggressive with covid policies, and even more aggressive with vaccinations, so limiting an event to vaccinated people is consistent with that, but comparing vaccination rates in the regions given how much the groups share space, it's absolutely condemnable that Israel lets Palestinians suffer the pandemic and then says "sorry guys, your pilgrimage is cancelled if you're not vaccinated". That's cruel. I'm not gonna argue about that. There, I made a point for you. And it wasn't "a tree burned near their 4th of July celebration, they must be genocidal".
Oh. You're making up people's positions.
Now I understand
Would you care to try again? One person says you can't understand anything about Jewish-Arab enmity without understand western imperialism. You personally called the groups' hatred for each other a "byproduct" of British and French actions in the region. And you're suggesting I made up those positions for you.
You are more than welcome to say "I don't think you're arguing with what I intended to say" and then explain what I'm apparently missing here.
