Hey guys, I was wondering, do you think the days were consoles were optimised to such an extent that loading times were unheard of, will ever return?
Take Donkey Kong Country for example; that game was the first of it's kinds, (rendered in 3D pretty much) 3D back then was unheard of, yet the NES was capable of running the game with absolutely no lag, and ZERO loading times.
I mean, yeah, there are better graphics nowadays, etc etc, but consoles have come such a long way since then and have improved tenfold from the days of the NES, yet loading times are only increasing..
Also i stand by what i say; alot of games on the market now are pretty much movies with a tiny bit of gameplay in them, take MGS's 1 hour cutscene.. i know MGS has a storytelling device yadayada but one whole hour..
/rant
For some discussion, Would you do away with amazing graphics, or other features, if it meant that loading times were completely done away with?
