A threefold answer:
1) Whoah, dude. Drama queen much?
This was tongue in cheek. Kind of. Gaming should be fun, good times and stuff. No need for it to feel like commitment. If you're not the mood, do something else that gives you pleasure, fun, good times. Simple as that. (an advice given from a rocking chair)
2) From briefly skipping through the thread so far, maybe it IS about time to escape the confinements of console gaming. By which I mean opening ways to be more (oh, the forbidden word! Fuck off!) "casual" about your gaming habits. I'm not a PC gamer by choice, just by fact - but I somewhat have a feeling that "we" get to have more titles that come with a natural teflon-coating to all those annoying topics being endlessly discussed. I myself am quite fed up with the current state of TripleA titles - but I just don't have to play them. In fact, I haven't played an AAA since... December[footnote]for the sake of sincereness: not counting about 7 rounds of Battlefield[/footnote]

and lately I actually have some beef with what I see on the Escapist, whether it's the official content or the forums - "FUN" doesn't seem to embody any value around here. For the past six weeks I've been exclusively playing one game. A highly praised game by both critics and players - there hasn't been one single mention of this game... at all. So, maybe you indeed should stay clear off this world that isn't interested in FUN, but instead just wants to voice opinions aka complain about petty shit.
