Now I couldn't help but notice nobody has mentioned bacon...
Seriously, slap some bacon on anything - BAM - instant Godly meal.

Well, the easiest way... especially since you're not much of a cook I'd assume, never cooking salmon before... would be to simply give it a nice once over rub of salt and lemon pepper and throw it in the oven until done... optional rosemary... impossible to screw up, tastes good, goes with pretty much any side dish... and you can throw some fresh lemon in there to make it look extra fancy...

Or if you wanna go all out you can grill the salmon on wine soaked cedar boards... just soak the planks for about 2 hours before getting started, any wine you want really... White is good... but I've also heard Sake and Vodka work too... throw the grill on 350-375F... give the salmon a good rub of... whatever you want really... I'd personally stick with a lemon zest, salt, olive oil and pepper... though I hear dill is good... and you can never go wrong with rosemary... than you just throw the salmon on top, skin side down of course, let it cook, covered for 15 minutes or so... little longer if you like it crispy... and just take a spatula and scrape it off... skin should stick and seperate easily... and there you go... add the finishing touches, whether it be a squeeze of lemon or a side of fresh herbs... and you're good to go... just make sure you buy the right planks... not some meant for construction... because there's a good chance they're treated with chemicals...<.<
