I'm a okay chef. I like to make my food and I hate the taste of microwavefood. The problem is that I'm somewhat lazy when it comes to making food. So most of the time it's some chicken in the oven. Some boiled rice with flavor and some veggies in a pan.

I love cooking. I'm currently in the process (in my massive amounts of free time *sarcasm*) of making my own cookbook with recipes nicked from magazines and newspapers in the waiting areas of the hospital where I work. I learned how to cook when my mom decided I was going to help make dinners for my family of six when I was ten. I still have the first recipie I used memorized: quiche, which is a favorite among my friends.

I love cooking- it's just something I find really enjoyable and rewarding to do.

The thing that made me laugh though was the "can you cook your favourite meal?" question, because, despite being a good cook, I actually don't know the recipe for it.
My husband also enjoys cooking, and my favourite meal is his Kombu Chicken. As he usually cooks this for me for special occasions, I get to sit down with a glass of wine looking pretty while he does all the hard work, so I have no idea what he does, or even what every ingredient is.

Personally, I can cook a metric shit-tonne of things, including my husband's favourite, Chicken Lasagne.

Oh the irony. I just made a thread like this without realizing that this one was here. XD

I can cook, and often do. I learned how to cook from my mom, who comes from a big Southern family, and from my dad, who was a chef trained at the Culinary Institute of America. I cook a wide range of foods, and have come up with a few dishes of my own.

Cooking is also a great way to impress your significant other. It's also a good way to, you know, eat. Eating is important. If you don't, I hear you die. Awful thing, dying. Unless you're Justin Bieber or other similar person.

I have litteraly set fire to normal bread, in an oven. Guess that sums up my skills.
Fun fact: That is NOT how you make traditional German black bread.

*chuckles*

The real funny part was, that it was in school, in cookingclass, we where assigned to make the bread, or buns to be exact. Buns in danish is "boller (balls)" which also is slang for male genitalia.. So i was outside getting some fresh air, when this girl comes out yelling "Mathias, Mathias your balls is on fire!" First thing i did, as a real man, was to check if my balls where on fire - then ran inside to find my teacher with a fire extinguisher going to town on my poor buns.

Note to self: Reading the Escapist and drinking soda do not mix. That can't be good for my monitor.
