This happened to me sort of.

2 guys were riot shield boosting in HC SaD and I jumped in front of them to kill them, they sent me two messages, one said simply "suspended" and the other was a long voice message saying "Gratz bro you pissed of an admin, enjoy your 24 hour ban."

Well, I havnt been banned yet, so I bet they were just blowing it out their ass, but If I do get banned I will be happy to tell you all :)

1 last note: PS3 has no censorship or Mods. Only MS who makes you pay money for full online play.
Yeah, because that's super relevant and won't fan the flames or anything. Good job.

It's relevant because, MS shouldn't make you pay for online then let mods have the ability to take it away for life. It is a huge scam and is like have someone take your Xbox away.
PS3 doesn't make you pay money for online and will not take your online away.

Why should the company that makes you pay money just to use the system online give others the ability to take it away from you. You also do not receive a refund for the Xbox Live subscription wasted.
I'm not sure what otherworldly universe you live in, but where I come from, having a community be moderated is a *good* thing. I'd rather not have as many cheaters and shit-talkers in my games, thanks.

Consider the difference between a place like the Escapist and the Gamespot forums as another example. If you get your Live account suspended/disabled, you were clearly way outside the rules and really had it coming. I mean, think about the people that they don't ban. Live is already something of a jungle. You make it sound like they just randomly ban people.

So no, what you said isn't good for discussion. It's console dick measuring.

His tone is very poor and yes, he is slightly corrupted by power, but the editing is criminal and basically proves that the original poster had something to hide.

Here is an important note I think everyone forgot. "THERE SHOULDN'T BE MODS ON ONLINE! EXPECILY CONSOLE GAME!"
Also MS is over zealous with there moderating. Try to make your clan tag "poop".

1 last note: PS3 has no censorship or Mods. Only MS who makes you pay money for full online play.
SO PS3 is better because people get away with more shit?

Hey there should be no cops OR ANY authority in town, I mean sersly? Every time I try and steal shit their right there. GOD,

Sorry man, but people need to be kept in line for them to do the right thing. People in general, especially when anonymous, will misbehave. I applaud MS for having Mods on online.
1) The "cop" argument makes no sense. There is a huge difference between real life and online.

2) If someone is annoying, you can always mute them so you can't hear them. If someone keeps messaging you, block them. They shouldn't be banned for being annoying when that is a simple fix to it.

3) WELCOME TO THE FUCKING INTERNET! PEOPLE WILL BE A DOUCHEBAG ON IT! SOMETIMES, THOSE DOUCHEBAGS MAKE THE INTERNET FUN!

4) You need trash talkers on online play. Jackasses and trash talkers are part of the package. They can make a match or a game really fun and funny. Imagine if everyone was civil online. We would have no teabaging, noobs, owning, or pwning. Most of out culter would not exist.

So in short, people need to know how to mute and block people. Misbehavior and genral douchebaggedness is a very important part of gaming and internet. Online gaming is the combination of the two. And a perfect example of this is Zero Punctuation. The Xbox Live Nazis would have him banned for life in a few minutes.

Some of us like the mods, because we don't act immature and/or hack the game. It gets rid of the glitchers and trash-talkers.

[sub]some of us also like spell-check...[/sub]
PS3 browser has not spell check.

I've never had any problems with any mods or administrators. It's really funny how not acting like a douchebag can make your life easier. If you don't cheat, mod, scream profanities, or constantly insult/threaten people, you'll be fine.

Honestly, I don't think he's done anything wrong. He suspended a modder/cheater, I'd like to buy him a drink.
One, I don't agree with cheating or unfair modding.

Two, I kinda like the douchebags and screamers. They are funny and quite amusing, and can living up a other wise boring game. When they get on my nerves, I can always mute them and not have to hear them. If I come in contacted with a stalker, I can block them.

And you won't have any problem with the Moderators if you stick to the rules. Plus they let you get away with loads, I have plenty of friends who go around provoking people in chat and nothings happened to them.

I JUST LEARN THAT A "CONSOLE BAN" WILL MAKE YOUR CONSOLE UNUSABLE! THAT YOU CAN NOT INSTALL GAMES TO THE HARDDRIVE OR GO ONLINE EVER AGAIN! THIS IS A HUGE RIP OFF! THE PRICE FOR THE XBOX 360 ELITE IS $299.99! THE FACT THAT YOU CAN HAVE YOUR CONSOLE TAKING ABOUT AND YOU BE OUT FOR OVER $300 IS UNACCEPTABLE! IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU DID, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY CRUEL PUNISHMENT! THIS SOUNDS CRIMINAL! NO ONE SHOULD LOSE THAT MUCH MONEY! OVER WHAT, MODS, CHEATING, OR "MISBEHAVING"? THEY ARE NOT CRIMES THAT SHOULD COST YOU ANY MONEY, LET ALONE $300+! IF YOU DISAGREE, YOU ARE WRONG!
You seem very young. I'm guessing 15 at the oldest. Trust me, this is all very fair, you're just not thinking it through.

Even after a console ban, the console will still function. You can still play your games. What will never function again is XBox Live, the service that has Terms of Service that you agree to when you sign up. If you break the TOS, Microsoft is within their rights to deny you access to that service. Why is this hard for you to understand? It's their ball. If you don't play by their rules, they take it and go home.

Also, heads up. All caps, underlining, and red text does not magically make bad points into better points. Protip for the future.

There was obviously a reason for the missing parts, like hell that was a monologue. Some kid got banned for being a dick, and now he's trying to spread that video in outrage. Hell, it almost had me fooled.

And what the hell was he doing on xbox live at 2.45 am?

Edited or not, I know two people that had run-ins with this guy. The first one was sitting in the lobby and The Pro started talking trash. After the match(that The Pro lost) my friend was like "Why do you talk a big game when you suck?" and The Pro said "I dont know but I'll give you two weeks to think about it." and temp banned him for two weeks.

Then, that friends brother was playing against The Pro and they were on Wasteland. He was about to get a nuke because he was 28-0 and only had to finish his chopper gunner. The Pro temp banned him for 24 hours so he wouldnt be able to use his nuke.

If you ask me, The Pro is childish. He starts trash talking, then bans people that do it to him because its against the TOS. Hes a hypocrite.

Wow. Tone down the caps and the red. You're violating the forum rules at the moment, not that I care that much. However, it detracts from your point, which seems to be that it's unfair to ban cheaters from Xbox Live. I have no problem with this practice since cheaters are making the game less fun for others just so they can feel superior.

OT: I think that video is silly. The guy is clearly provoking the mod, so he deserves what he got. I do think that mods need to be a little stealthier about their gaming and mod status though.

I want to see the mod releasing HIS version of it. It's not like he can edit in some voices that weren't said, eh?

To think he's a mod, i'm sure he can pick up the conversations from that time line.

If anyone wants to see the uncut video of it, he really did deserve the ban. Here's the link to the uncut video recorded by another user in the room when it all went down. Warning: NSFW. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uU0qWhJd2Wc

I love that you say that like it would be a bad thing. I'd love it if everyone that used the word "noob" was banned from the internet. It'd make it such a nice place.

Remember, the internet, X Box Live, PSN, Steam, these are all priviledges, not rights. If you can't prove that you are capable of acting responsibly and by the rules the service providers set down, it should (and in a perfect world, it would without fail) be taken from you.

My experience and observations of mods in forums and the like has been that they tend to get on a bit of a power trip, even if it is only minor but usually they go way to OTT just to prove a point that they can do pretty much what ever they want. There position of authority and insider knowledge pretty much allows them to bend the TOS in their favor so they always win by default which is pretty much summed up by the guy saying he will "make it his mission" to "ban every console he's ever used" and he is more then prepared to do it.

Though i agree that the obvious editing of this video has done nothing more then serve to condemn the guy claiming to be the 'victim' of corruption by tampering with the only evidence himself which is just a little ironic and suggests he probably was in some kind of wrong and deserved reprimanding. But should one Mod be able to outright permanently ban on his own right there and then? i think that it should of been the policy for the Mod to record the game as soon as he realized it was going down that path or get another Mod involved so it becomes less of a personal act of some kind of vengeance and more about professionals unbiasedly removing a abusive player.

Still i don't plan on acting like an immature cretin and i'm not stupid enough to pick a fight with a Mod so none of this will effect me and therefore i will file this one under "meh"

Microsoft sucks, go Valve.

That's all I have to say about that.
Oh boy do we differ on opinion. I can'nae stand Valve.

I havent seen the video (Youtube Blocked at work), But from what i can see from community posts, it has been edited heavily. Anyone that cries abuse but doesnt show the full story should have his case thrown out.
Love Valve...'s games, the studio, eh... but totally in agreement about the edited video dismissing his claim.

No joke, eh?
The kid was a dick, and The Pro didn't stand for it anymore.
Maybe he should have held his tongue, but don't wag 'professionalism' in my face if someone is acting like a dick. The one kid was talking about raping The Pro's grandmother and killing his mother, and people complain about professionalism?
Screw that. Ban that kid.

Darn I was expecting to see some real abuse of power, not someone with a badge unafraid to throw it around in an incident that was never disclosed.

In fact I just see someone trying to publicly retaliate for something done in private with NO EVIDENCE. The kid thinks he nailed the mod just because he was unpleasant about enforcing the laws. I've got bad news kid, Cops are worse if you piss them off, and crying about in court will just get the judge to laugh at you.

If you look above a few posts, I posed the unedited version from someone else that was in the game with them. It shows him going off on the pro and brought in personal insults to The Pro. IMO, The Pro acted better than most people would if personal things were brought up.
