Could you kill someone if you had choice?

I'd do it, no question about it. I definitely value my own life over some strangers'. But let's put it in a different perspective: what if you were the person on your knees? Would you judge the person with the gun if he/she shot you?

Edit: This is, of course, if you can trust the person with the sniper rifle. And that, you probably can not. Doesn't matter though. I'd still do it. Me and the guy with the sniper go way back, soo.

Shoot the guy. What? This is supposed to be a morality question? Easiest one I've answered at least. I don't know him, so for all I know he might be a murderer. Hell, I might do the world a favour without getting credit for it!

I don't care much about other people's lives, but I'd sooner be shot myself, than shoot someone else.

This because I do not value my own life very much, and saving someone else's life by dying seems like an okay way to go.

I'm dead. This guy is clearly simply trying to make a point; what other uses do complicated ultimatums have? I'd wager he is a cynical misanthrope, attempting to prove that human beings are inherently evil.

So, you know what I'd do? I'd shoot the man in question. It won't grant me absolution, it won't free me from this guy's macabre plot. But he's arguably correct, and I'd hate to give him a false reaction to his experimentation.

Besides, we're both going to die anyway, and I've always wondered what handling a firearm felt like.

I'll shoot the ceiling light, making the place go pitch black. I then use the guy on the floor has a decoy while I make a run for it.

I don't think I could ever take a life in cold blood. If I could, I'd try and barter my life for the guy's. If I was to be shot, then let him go free, for example. At the very least, I'd lean over and explain to him, and see what he thought.

Not so much a morality test as a test to survive, I would choose survival...

I would kill the victim, for this simple reason..
If I kill him, one person dies..
If I don't, the rifle man will kill me, then probably the victim after, so two people die.
The less deaths the better.

I'm damned if I'm going to waste my only bullet on some random stranger when there's a psycho with a sniper rifle out there (assuming there's only 1 bullet, I'd check).

Sniper sounds scary until you realise that they've exchanged scope of vision for range, i.e. they can see far away, but only a small bit of far away. If I can't see him then if I dodge a bit he can't see me.

Yeah he'll shoot the guy, like I care. The key here is that while the other guy will be dead either way I have a choice:
a) He can be dead and I have an empty gun, or
b) He can be dead and I have a single shot.

I choose the situation that leaves me with at least a chance of survival.

Oh, plus if he kills the other guy then muzzle flash and the sound of the shot will give me some indication of which direction he's in (even with sound suppression a sniper rifle is pretty loud).

I realise that technically this puts me on the "evil" side of the equation, but it also puts me on the "armed" and "alive" side of the equation too, so I'm happy with my decision.

It'd take me the best part of two seconds to decide, I'd shoot the guy.

I wouldn't take pleasure in doing so but at the end of the day it would be me or him (and as others have said, what assurance would I have that the other guy isn't just shot after me anyway?).

It is entirely possible that he can't be saved, yet I can save myself.

I'd switch to VATS and headshot the guy who has the rifle.

...what?

OT: Yes, I would. Probably wait until the last few seconds but I'd do it.

If it was Josef Fritzl though, I'd shoot the fucker before the guy with the rifle had even given me the choice. The I'd say "Next."

First i would examine the man in-front of me, i am pretty good at telling if someone is douchebag or not by looking at their face.
If the guy looked legit, I would then ask the guy to tell me about his life, and pit our lives up against each other.
If he is married and has three kids, your not just ending one mans life, your destroying 4 other as well. All i am is a punk-ass teenager, he's life is more valuable than mine.

But if i didn't like the looks of this guy, then yes no hesitation.

No I wouldn't, give me a good enough reason and hes gone, but as a mindf*ck exercise I couldn't be bothered.

Altho it is very questionable what I would actually do once the subconscious instincts kick in.

no i would not.

I hate hypothetical questions like this because it gives a false dichotomy, realistically there are bound to be more options then this, more ways to deal with this, and this is unlikely to ever happen. I would rather shoot myself than shoot someone with out a reason, i don't think i could live with myself if i did that, and the sick bastard doing it would probably shoot me later for the fun of it.
