I'll aim to keep this short though I could go on and o- (hmm first sentence is already omnious no?) Anywho!
I am doing a research case study into children's creativity and how well the current English National curriculum matches up to fostering their ability. I thought you guys might like to join in with a small side quiz just for kicks. Whilst I can't include this public survey in anyway I thought the Escapist might find it interesting to see each other's responses on what you consider creative.
The questions that follow aim to cover a broad range of creative thinking, ability and traits. It's been interesting in my own research to find exactly what the teacher's, children's and the public sector's responses are into creativity. For example would you consider a footballer's ability on the pitch a creative trait that has been developed? Yet that has nothing to do with the massive over three-quarters repsonse of people who attribute creativity purely to drawing skills. .... Crap I rambled. To the QUIIIIIIZ /flaps chequered flag
To answer the quiz simple respond with (Really Agree / Agree / Not Sure / Disagree / Really Disagree / Not Applicable) next to the statements that follow. Here is an example of how to respond -
The Sky can be a range of different colours. Agree.
[Copy paste below and fill in how you agree) :
Creative people do not like working hard unless they think it?s fun.
Creative people will enjoy lots of different types of sports, lots of different books and lots of different types of music and T.V.
Creative people have many ideas they like, but find it hard to write/draw/make them like they want to.
Creative people start tasks and work as soon as they can, they do not want time to think beforehand.
Creative people think of other ways to do writing/artwork/numeracy they have not been shown.
Creative people think about themselves, who they are and consider what they want themselves to be.
[I would make this into a poll but I can only throw up one question at a time ;P] Have fun y'all.
