Robot's that do exactly what the director tells them are the director's dream. But what happens when they invent robot directors too?
Boring movies?
1- Artsy movies can be pretty boring but we all know that robots can't art.
2- There are extensive and detailed lists of the do's and don'ts [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HomePage] of certain kind of movies, and robots like extensive and detailed instructions.
3- Robots can be harmed for the sake of the movie so no stunt doubles or special fx are needed if you have to blow up a robot, a robot shall be blown up. Spectacularly.

Thus robots could do the BEST genre movies ever! Or at the very least a feasible Michael Bay replacement.

If I would ever invent some machine which will be able to learn on its own, I'd call it skynet just to scare the shit out of everyone.

I like the holograms better.
At least they don't try to be human. That was... frightening.

Uncanny Valley much? I'll admit it looks pretty cool, but I know for a fact I'm definitely not the only one who's feeling a bit disturbed.

The fact that every robot from Japan has a female appearance tells me the ultimate goal is a robotic wife. Seriously, does Japan have any plans to make a male robot at any point?
Sure there is:

http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2006/07/71426

Hiroshi Ishiguro is a professor that researches the interactions between robots and humans.

The first thing he made was a double of his 5 year old daughter, but it was incredibly creepy, and he wanted to know more about what makes such 'lifelike' duplicates creepy.

So, he copied himself.
And his duplicate mimics his own gestures, and can be remotely operated.

He also created a double for a well known Japanese newsreader...

But, anyway...

Edit:

Male android see? XD

Incedentally, this guy is also responsible for the robot described in the article here.

I'm fine with that thing as long as it didn't come from the future to kill arnold scwarzenegger.

There are two things this director is going to get a wakeup call about:

1. You can't replace a genuine human actor with a robot. Much as you might stuff it with GAP* it is still going to smell and feel like a tin can(Mentally at least). Tin cans don't win Oscars. Just ask Keanu Reeves. Wait...Holy Smokes I wondered why that android looked so familiar!

2. People are spending money to see the robot, they don't give a crap about what the play is about. The novelty is going to go away after a while.

*:Genuine Actor Personality

KILL IT WITH FIRE.
KILL IT WITH FIRE.
KILL IT WITH FIRE.
KILL IT WITH FIRE.
OT: That's disturbing. I don't think I'll be seeing any plays with this thing. Sure, it does what you tell it to, but it's obviously a robot.

You know there's an astounding amount of prejudice for human-resembling robots on this site just saying.

Now I strongly disagree that a robot could outdo a human when the character is a human, but can a human outdo a robot when the character is a robot?
