The setting seems fairly bland. The anachronism bothers me. Medieval fantasy with mechs, grappling hooks, helicopter umbrellas... They could have set it in the far distant future on another planet or a post-apocalyptic fantasy version of our world (Hayao Miyazaki's "Nausicaa") and come up with some excuse for everybody not simply using guns, like the energy shields in "Dune." I'd love to see a world like Nihei's "Blame!" in video game form. Medieval fantasy has been done to death and has all these limitations that the developers clearly don't want to adhere to. The player characters are too powerful with their futuristic tech and magic. Most of the enemies are humans or orcs who move like humans.

I don't want to sweep chimneys and chop wood.

The faces look plastic, but it's Korean and therefore expected.

I feel like this game is gonna be like Death's Stranding, in which for some people it'll be incredible and other people will not know what people could possibly enjoy about it.

As long as the game is not going out of its way to screw people over, then I am fine with either reception. I have no interest, but good luck to the developers.

That would actually be a pretty good deal then, I fear its going to be an assasin creed, with "tons" of content that's just copy paste all over a map thats way too big.

Either way, I'll probably try it cause its seems to have fun movement ability, and I usually enjoy that even in bland game, like forspoken or w/e it was called.

I think that’s why the dragon’s dogma comparisons come up so much. Only this time the game is more for combo combat fans who wanna style on enemies a million different ways and ride dragons and do izuna drops while wielding a greatsword from berserk. (The female playable char does actually do this)

A lot of the stuff you mention like the mech and guns are late game stuff or tied to sidequests so it’s not gonna paint the majority of the experience, and the grappling hook is just magic, not tech. The world isn’t like a realistic medieval setting, it’s fantasy magic and dragons world with a dimension called the abyss atop the skies that rains magical anomalies and mysteries down upon the lands and you as a player explore and uncover the abyssal mysteries while absorbing magical powers which go into your various skill trees. So it all fits in the world cause most of the world doesn’t have this stuff. Maybe a gang leader or warlord will have found and exploited a single artifact here and there but nowhere near the arsenal you’ll be amassing by the lategame when dragons and mechs enter the picture.

Yeah console performance was posted too, sounds about what you’d expect. I get 60fps on performance so that’s all I need.

Specs have been posted, they're not too crazy all things considered
And here's the thing: The RTX 1060 was the third-tier card of its generation. The 5500 XT is somewhat more advanced, but not by a whole lot.

It seems like these devs really want just about everyone to be able to play this game.

Man the rocket pack was totally unexpected. I wonder if that flies faster than even a dragon.

And now there is Denuvo DRM on the PC version so it wont run as good as it did in the demo's they showed the press.

And you have some people who constantly go on about how PC is 'dominating' consoles or Switch 2. I get not every p c game has this but it's noticeable when it's a large major title that does it, and not the indie games. While consoles really don't have to worry about DRM bullshit much.

They're probably gonna remove it 6 to 8 months down the line. Capcom has a habit of doing that too with their pc releases.

I guess that means I am the target audience for the game. Except I would have liked a character creator.

"Footage captured on PC"

Come on man, releasing a launch trailer a week away from the game's launch and still not showing footage from the actual consoles? Weak.
Speaking of, DF reecently did a tech dive on PS5 Pro. They said the publishers gave them an entire console w/ the game already loaded in.

This is strange, because usually these publishers just give out codes to download and install games. Kinda suspicious that they weren't given the review copy on the likes of base PS5.

I mean I guess it's to showcase how amazing the game can look on PS5 Pro, but what does it mean for the performances on other platforms?

Based on the pc requirements I’m not worried for base ps5 performance. If it can run on some of those cards the ps5 will be fine. They prolly didn’t want review copies leaking or something.

I have no horse in this race as I'm not interested in the game, but it is suspicious how they keep hiding console footage before release.

Certainly not a game I would preorder going by this behaviour.

I'm not saying it's going to look like shite or run like garbage, I'm hoping it'll run and look great, but the act of hiding the console footage before release in itself is scummy.
